Has anyone heard anything about the new line of running shoes from reebok? It's called the premier series. I saw the shoes and spikes while at the NCAA XC Nat.

Maybe they'll run the Dan or Dave campaign again.
That would be cool!
I have seen the prototype trainers, still made for wide American feet so they won't fit meet, but will be fine for Iverson. But the spikes look really nice. I am all about simplicity and this is waht they did. See Pics at venuesports.com. Available in Jan.
Oh, and just to add, Reebok marketing to runners is more pathetic than any other major shoe company...
Speaking of Dan and Dave, Dan O'brien was in the poker room a couple weeks ago and nobody recognized who he was. He can up to my window at the Poker Cage to buy some chips and I recognized him and said hello, said something stupid, like hey your Dan O'brien right?? He looked at me kinda look surprised that somebody recognized him, we chatted a little and I wished him good luck in his poker game. This other fella at the window next to me heard us talkin' (he is one of those guys that thinks he knows everything about every sport) he asks who that was and I said that was a world record holder, was once recognized as the greatest athlete in the world and you don't know who that is??? Then I mentioned the Reebok commercials and he said that is him!!?? Why didn't you tell me, man I was a big fan blah blah blah... I rolled my eyes and thought to myself, what a fan? But anyhoo Dan looked like he was in great shape, like he could go out and be competitive if he wanted to.
Reebok HAS returned to runner-focused product. The Premier line is simple and useful. They have dumped the DMX gimmick for that particular line. Recently, they hired away a Nike developer to take over the running division.
I'm supposed to be getting several wear-fit pairs soon, so I will try to keep people posted.
I saw reebok at the NY city marathon expo last month and there product looked pretty strong. Very basic running shoes, but technically sound. Let's hope they put some $$ behind the push to get back to running and get some athletes hooked up as well. Running focus by companies is good for everyone.
maybe Shakira can wear them in her next video! They are spending more on her than they spend on any US runner, sad.

Its funny that you mention they hired a Nike developer...take a look at the new JW Foster spikes...the spike plate oddly resembles the Jasari spike plate...what's with that?
It used to be that Reebok shoes kicked ass!!! I had my best training in them in college (1987-1991), but then they went all to shit.
I saw some of the new models at the race expo in Berlin in september and they look useful. I tried to buy a pair but the staff said that they are only protos.

Speaking of Reeboks, does anyone out there have size11.5-13 yellow or previous colorway racers (white 3d outsole bottoms)??
I called my local store in the Philly area and asked if they knew anything about the premier line. They told me they ordered the shoes and that the line looks very solid. BM said that reebok hired some solid folks to work in the running dept. As for Dan and Dave, the ads must have worked as folks on this board still mention them 10 + yrs later.

Reebok ran into a bit of bad luck regarding their multi-million dollar campaign when Dan didn't go. I was at the 92 Trials spectating and drinking. If memory serves, I got to the stadium early to mid morning. The crowd was sparse. I asked someone how it was going or what I'd missed and was informed about the NH. Total bummer for Dan.
Reebok?? Running??? Same sentence??? Don't waste your $$$. Is Allen Iverson gonna run a marathon next? ??? They can hire whomever they want...the company's commitment to running is a joke!
Pics of the new reeboks can be found here:

Nice, simple, clean looking shoes, but a big time marketing faux pas! How about that huge logo to tell you they are reeboks?
When is the last time that Vince Carter or T mac ran a road race for their brands? What does the sponsoring of Iverson have to do with Reebok running? Sponsoring MJ did not positively nor negatively impact Nike running. Keep it real Mr. marketer... Brand marketing is one thing. Why bash a brand for developing solid product. The market will be the judge of Reebok?s commitment.. The swoosh and Adi have made plenty of bad shoes, as the tech geeks on this board can attest.
if they ever get off there ass and serve the customer it would be nice. They haven't had xc spikes in two seasons and I am at a school who they sponser and can't get product. The new line is on it way but who knows when. They will probably ne ready in April? With this companies service record we are going to a new line called NIKE ADDIDAS OR ASICS REEBOK SUCKS
I' running in a pair right now, the Premier Road. The store I put a few hours in at got a sample and the boss gave the to me to put as any miles in them as possible to see how they hold up. They are VERY soft. They are actually softer than I like but they are still treating me well. Completely different than the shoes I got for free from my school and never wore. Very simple, very comfortable. A good move on Reebok's part.
What is the name of your store?

History should tell you that Reebok had the attention span of a 3 yr old when it comes marketing campaigns .... they change their marketting message more often that I change underwear (which is a whole other problem) ......quick bucks, crappy product and non-existent support of the sport......i'll put my money elsewhere....
