It seems that in all the promotional material people wearing the Frees are doing so without socks. Is this the way the Frees should be worn?

My dogs really bark, so I wouldn't think of running without them, lest my shoes set off biohazard warnings. I wear really thin ankle high socks.

no way... they feel way to good with no socks... like slippers
Come on, now lets think about this. These shoes are supposed to simulate running barefoot--not running with socks. If you wear socks with these shoes then you'll destroy everything Nike has worked towards in making a shoe that feels like you're not wearing one. So please, don't wear socks; you'll crush my dreams.

I tested these shoes for Nike. I liked them a lot. I do believe they will serve the purpose in developing foot strength, though I had some problem with them as I have a chronic fore foot soreness problem.
Instructions:
1.Take your shoes and socks off
2.Walk nice and ez outside on the pavement for 30-60 minutes
3.Repeat daily
After a few months you will have strong flexible feet, ankles and lower legs.
It really is that simple.
Hey Ben "Mystery Men" was a funny movie...nice job.

Where the nike frees how you want. I don't think socks will make much of a difference.
Nike knocked of Bite's concept on their Xtension running sandal. Even their verbiage copies Bite.

If you look at those runnig sandals and look at the nike free's, you might notice that they are not even close to the same shoes... Try to bend one of those sandals in half... doubt you could do it. And lets face it, sandals are not shoes... Don't buy them if you don't like em... And wear em w/ or w/ out socks, it's up to you...
