Deena is also 40. Great performance from her.

Which is more impressive? 2:32 at 40 for Kastor or 2:41 at 48 for De Reuck?

2:41.
But they are both damned impressive. The record for women age 40 is 2:26.41 and for age 48 it's 2:37.46.
Many of those women's records reek of EPO, but then so do the open records. Where there's $$, there's drugs.

I bet the Ethiopian in 4th was more impressed with the 2:32.
De Reuck's longevity is amazing. She has been competing at a high level for so many years.

Good catch - no idea. Based on some googling it appears to be an erroneous result.
As experienced as Deena is as a runner she needs help on the PR front.
Post race interview , she thanks her personal sponsors and forgets the sponsors that are paying the bills. PR 101 , thank the events key sponsors 1st , then your personal sponsors.

yep
At least Deena kastor ran a a marathon in 2012 and 2013. Paula radcliffe no marathons 2012 2013.
Not always the case in masters with money. Track in Masters is rife with it with some wanting records so badly.

Don't agree. Take care of your personal sponsors first of all. They are there supporting you on a daily basis.
Take a look at NASCAR drivers for folks that know how to talk up their personal sponsors. They ALWAYS mention there top personal sponsors when they win and rarely mention the event sponsor. Sometimes the event sponsor is a direct competitor with their personal sponsoer (Coke vs Pepsi etc....).
What's with the homophobic handle?

It not NASCAR and smart athletes will call out the majors , its the 1st thing you are taught to do in PR media training. Without the big bucks to keep the event alive your personal sponsors wont have venue to highlight the athlete. It simple to do mentioning a few names that the made it possible and my sponsors who keep me going. Its boiled down into two sentences that you can rattle off in 20 seconds.
The sports athletes need to be PR smart , they are pro's.
She was great for the broadcast. She even let someone from the TV broadcast interview her a couple minutes before the start.
She provided great PR for the event. I would bet be she was the only reason a lot of people cared to watch the race at all.
The TV lady who interviewed people after the race was pretty clueless. She was interviewing a guy who grew up down the street from the finish who ran 2:19 and she seemed more impressed that he finished 4 marathons than ran 2:19. The guy handled the interview well though.
