I work at a running store and we have both. The main difference is that the Boost is going to be twice as durable as the Flyknit due to the fact that the midsole doesn't break down. In terms of feel, the Boost material is more responsive and Lunar foam is a bit softer (although the Boost is still pretty soft). The Flyknit upper is super comfy and is a bit wider. The Boost upper is narrower but it is stretchy and accommodates a lot of different foot types.
I have not run in any shoe with Lunar foam but my impression is that they would be too soft for me. You really sink into the foam, and they are super comfy. I've run in the Boost and they do have great energy return, and the more responsive cushioning makes it a more stable ride than the Lunar.
Thank you. Going to try both on. Used to run in Nike free run but needed more cushioning. Switched to Asics gel excel 33 but feel too soft and I got blisters often and lost a toenail.
you lost a toenail bc you didn't buy the right size, not bc the shoe was too soft.
