Everyone keeps talking about the 3:50 mile indoors, but shouldn't there be a conversion to outdoors from a 200m indoor banked track with twice the number of turns?
Only then can you really start the conversation of whether or not Rupp has a shot at Webb's record. To convert a 3:50 mile indoors to a 3:33 1500m outdoors is imbecile.
You'll want to learn how to write in sentences if you're going to try to use the word imbecile.
What would you convert 3:50.9 (200m track, banked) to?
A 3:33.6-3:33.9 1500 is supported by multiple calculators and tables (all of which give slightly different results so probably aren't using exactly the same formula).
I'm not really interested in a conversion to the outdoor mile. It's a nice historical distance and I like that it's still run, but it is not a real event in that it is rarely contested on the world level. Therefore comparisons become meaningless. You could say 3:49.5 or 3:50.5, and I'd say run a real event and tell us about it.
