You are an alcoholic. It doesn't matter if it's only a beer and not whiskey. What are you doing to yourself? I can't handle this today.

I saw it last week. I stopped reading when she said 99% of professional athletes are clean.
I almost stopped reading it there also. Doesn't she know about 99% of cyclists were doping at the same time as Lance? She is really going on the offensive for clean athletes. Almost like she has something to hide like Lance.

Q: Why didn't she write a critcal letter to Lance when she was employed by Nike?
She made some very critical tweets about Lance while Lauren was employed by Nike, unlike the majority of Nike athletes who have been completely silent.

I don't see how you can take her seriously when she is putting parsley on her head to get attention.
Now if she garnished herself with little radishes carved in clever shapes, that would give her a cool Asian fusion vibe.
That's all fine and dandy, but seriously, 99% of professional athletes are doing it right???
Ok. Why don't you date that cougar. At least I'll have the comfort of knowing someone is babysitting you. I'm going to frisco. Don't know if I'll be back. Have a nice life. Thanks for making me worry, trying to make me jealous, and putting me down on a day I really needed confidence and your love.

No, I think very few of them know how to garnish themselves right, although I think Shalane looked yummy presented with twisted lemon slices. Manzano with pico de gallo is a bit obvious, but still a classic.

Not sure if this has been shared here, but Lauren Fleshman authored a nice letter to Lance, pro to pro:
http://asklaurenfleshman.com/journal/2013/01/17/a-letter-to-lance-armstrong-a-fellow-pro-athletes-plee/
Too long, too late to the party, too self-serving, too desperate to keep traffic going to her website.
Nice ass, though

Um, yes, but garnish has other meanings. Check out dictionary.com.
Synonyms: adorn, array, beautify, bedeck, bedizen, blazon, caparison, deck, do, doll up, do up, drape, dress, embellish, emblaze, emboss, enrich, fancify, fancy up, festoon, decorate, glitz (up), grace, gussy up, ornament, pretty (up), trim
So she is garnishing attention on herself...i.e. making herself look better.
Perhaps though I could have also used the word garner, but that isn't exactly where I was going with the thought. I wasn't just trying to say she was trying to bring attention to herself, but to bring attention to herself and make herself look better in the process.
Well, that's a nice attempt to weasel out of having used the wrong word, but sorry, no dice. By using the nonsense phrase "garnish attention on," you have only proven that you have no idea how to employ the word "garnish" even though its various definitions are right before your increasingly slack face.
As far as the point you are trying to make is concerned, well, does it matter? Garnering personal attention is what essentially all bloggers do to some extent. Personally I think that Lauren is more intent on getting a message out there than putting a personal stamp on it, at least in the post under fire here, but blogging by its very nature is a self-indulgent pastime. That's why avoid it, along with cliches, like the plague.
Good day, sir.

No one mentioned her race dillhole. Lauren hasn't done anything lately except spread her legs for babymaking.
Do you have a non-zero IQ?
What has Lauren done? Passed the same inept testing as drug cheats.
Why don't she walk the walk by volunteering to sign up for VADA and win Nationals again?
Or we'll just have to take her word on it like all the other drug cheats who say they're clean.

You do know that professional cyclists make up only a small fraction of professional athletes, right? So even if 99% of pro cyclists are in fact doping, and I'm sure it's closer to 99% than 1%, that doesn't mean that most pro athletes are. True, I'd bet that her 99% is a tad optimistic, but cycling is unusually dirty (and contrary to what some people say, it's not just a matter of cycling doing more testing and making a greater effort to clean itself up than other sports).
I LOVE Lauren's posts!! Ever think she wrote the letter because she wants to express her opinion and she loves to write? Lauren has the BEST blog out there and is by far one of the most inspiring athletes I've followed.

It's a nice letter and I appreciate the sentiment, but quotes such as the above lead me to believe she's not being very realistic.

Many people use numbers to say things that really should be said with words. Perhaps she simply meant "most of us are doing it right". Doesn't seem like it changes the message and getting caught up in the math seems silly.
Thanks to the OP.
Thanks also to Lauren.
It does sadden me a bit to think that so many folks on these threads have an insufficient IQ to appreciate decent writing and a solid message or are so blinded by their own inability to understand, relate to, and appreciate half of our species.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. EVERYONE was doping when Lance was. He is absolutely a despicable character, but this girl has effectively nothing to hold against him. She has no business writing a letter demonizing him, especially given that she stands to gain attention from it. Going on a rant against someone is not a positive behavior, it doesn't add anything to anyone's life. Lance made some awful choices, and hurt many people, but to dismiss the complexity of the situation is ignorant. And somehow this is about how stupid people can't relate to women?

No offense but your post sounds a whole lot more like a "rant" that is "demonizing" someone than Lauren's letter does.
Her letter suggests that Lance step away from the sport for the good of the sport. Whether you agree with it or not it comes across as thoughtful and level headed. Your post - not so much.
