Paced Galen through many workouts in High School and College

Worked out with Ritz many times and even when he ran his 10 mile AR workout

Worked out with Adam Goucher when he still ran and was a beast

Worked out with Alan Webb while he was with Salazar, and still currently do easy runs with him (great guy)

and also:

Josh Rohatinsky, Julius Achon, and some lesser known professional runners. It's been a very fun experience seeing all these athletes train at a top level over the years. I've been very lucky to have had the opportunity.

I ran a few workouts with the University of Toronto Track Club and cross country team that included 2:14 marathoner Danny Kassap. He was running quite comfortably at what looked like 2:40/km (4:20 mile pace?), not that I have any sense of paces below 3:00/km. He certainly didn't look like he was working very hard, but then, he seemed to enjoy running tremendously (I didn't know him).

I never worked out with him, but I did finish second to Noureddine Morceli in a couple of races.

Joan Benoit, at a Boston physical therapy center, circa 1982. She was recovering from surgery (on both Achilles, I think) . The center's patients included several members of the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots, who were awestruck, as I was, by the killer 90-minute workouts this peanut of a woman was doing on an exercise bike that you could have found at a Jack LaLanne health spa. A year or so later Joanie ran her WR 2:22:XX at Boston.

One more thing: she couldn't have been nicer or more down-to-earth.

It was back in 1989 when he was at Riverside Community College. I was at another California J.C. Of course he obliterated everyone. He ran cross country and track for R.C.C. He seemed like a pretty decent guy. You knew he was going to go on to do great things, which he did. Don't know how or why he ended up at R.C.C.?

Salazar used to occasionally join UO track workouts. His form looked even worse in person. It was like being passed by a race walker.

Ben True, in grade through middle school. Did most runs (and all workouts) waaay behind him, but we were on the same team and thus allegedly ran "together" for a few years.

Ran with Meb for about 5 minutes in Chula Vista.

Have been on the track a few times with lots of Olympians. Hardly working out with them...
