I'll hit 70 in 3 months, and I am not immensely talented so don't laugh:
Break 2 hours in Indy MiniMarathon
.
At age 70, just running 13.1 miles is great. Doing it under 2 hours is awesome.
After doing a full marathon in a few weeks, I am hoping to focus on the short stuff ie; 5k-half. Like to do more "track" work since I like it and of course to continue to stay healthy and injury free.
Stay injury free.
Continue to push myself and break my limits.
Do it all joyfully, trying to inspire others.
Dream Big.
I aim to run my 7 mile loop several times a week. It starts at 5000 feet, goes up to about 5600 then back down.
I would also like to beat my fellow geezers over 5000 meters on the road and track.
run 100 miles 100 beers in a week
16:00 - Sub 4:45
3200 - Sub 9:45
XC - Sub 15:45 5k
Stay healthy so I can finally make a comeback in the 800 and run sub 2.
800m-1:56
1500m/1600m-3:56/4:12
3000m/3200m-8:20/8:52
5000m-14:30
8000m-24:30
10k-30:20
I am a junior
stay healthy and strong
run first marathon
break 20 minutes in 5k
Sub-14 5,000m
Please God, for the sake of my scholarship, grant me this.
Take out the old high school PR's- it's only been 4 years since i've raced track
want to take my shot at skipping the 4:20's- 4:30.1 in HS, wanna go sub 4:20 4 years later.
Sub 15 5k
Ultimate goal- slam down a sub 2:33 at boston (average under 5:50/mile), would love to get in good enough shape to chase 2:30. Plan on mixing in the track races this indoor/early spring for fun to spice things up.
for the fall- if I still care about running competitively (ideally I'll be in grad school somewhere), finally win a darn NIRCA XC champ trophy.
Keep improving team performances
1:59.99
4:24.99
8:34.99
14:59.99, but really 14:45
score at 10k conference
Maybe 2013 will be the year I figure out how to run first thing in the morning without having to turn around in the first mile to rush home to take a dump.
Stay alive and stay healthy. Will turn 65 next month and would love to get under 21:00 for 5k. Hit 21:20 early this year, but hammy/piriformis issues slammed the door on any further improvement. Time ain't on my side!
Crush Frogger every time we race one another this year.
Not get injured.
Break 21 minutes in 5k by February ( ran 21:25 Dec 16 2012)
Establish new 5K PR ( currently 20:39 set Dec 2009 ) by March
Break 20 minutes 5k by May
Run a sub six minute mile by March (ran 6:28 last week). This will be accomplished in a Bannister like approach of quarter mile repeats at 545 pace or a mile time trial least once a week.
Be consistent and smart about training
Do core training consistently (push ups crunches calf raises etc )
Build from 25 mpw currently to 40 mpw. May be moving near beach so may end up doing long runs along the beach.
Complete first marathon under 4 hours but only if I am adequately prepared and not on my way to an injury. Maybe Providence in May.
Do some more triathlons. Finish top 3 women in swim, top 50 percent of women in bike, 5k portion sub 7 minute miles. Do some brick workouts.
Drink less soda and less desserts. Eat more whole grains.
Sub 15 5k by the end of outdoor.
Try the steeple and see if I can go under 9:20.
Stay healthy, currently going through some ankle issues that has left me with about 60 miles of running since the end of XC season. Sucks.
22/F and I think about stuff like this all day, so sorry if it's about lengthy:
Originally was going for an 87 half (PR 89:31) in the Spring but I honestly think I'm in shape for that right now, so I might push it down to 85 and see what I'm capable of. For now I'm considering 87 a B goal and 85 an A goal.
I plan to get used to 70 mile weeks with two quality days. I am already on track for this. While training for that half I am going to run a 10K and a 15-miler. I'd like to run one more race during my training but I'm still looking.
I will probably also do a half in the early fall before XC starts. I would really like to hit somewhere around 85 this year and I know I can get there if I stay healthy and train well.
In the fall I plan to run XC with my club again because it made me stronger last year even though I suck at XC. It was also fun. Any improvement over last year would make me happy. I want to run at club nats which is nearby so I should be able to, but I have a special bonus goal to make it onto the A team.
On the side it would be nice to run under 19 in a road 5K (PR 19:07), maybe pushing 18:30 if my training goes well. The 5K is not my focus but it is easy and fun to throw them in once in a while, plus it's probably a good way to get some quality in anyways.
