Fired at Ol Miss after SEC:
Men's distance coach
Sprints coach
Throws coach
I'm not saying that's inaccurate, I just didn't see a mentioning of it in the website.

If you're asked to turn in your cell phone, office keys, and car by the end of the day, you are not fired without cause.
Continue to operate under the assumption they were let go without reason.

My short list for CMU:
Clive Roberts if they want track orientated.
Jerry Baltes if he would leave GVSU but I doubt it.
Kevin Hadsell if they are willing to give him a chance.
Any of those three would result in championships. Baltes would probably never leave GVSU for a MAC school. Hadsell would need to show he's capable of raising his level of professionalism to match his coaching ability (now that many of us know the majority of the allegations against him he was cleared of). Clive is an alumn and has been coaching in the Big Ten but not sure he wants to be a head coach.
Baltes gives best options for success. Hadsell not proven men's coach but Toledo had no men's track so hard to evaluate. I would be worried about distance program if they hired Clive.
Baltes could have had it before and didn't want it. Clive might be interested, he has a child in the area and is an alum. There is no way they would consider Hadsell, they had another assistant who used to put his hand in the cookie jar just before Randolph came in, they wouldn't risk that. It's all fresh even if all the allegations aren't true. Matt Kaczor?

Pray tell, what were the reasons? Word on the street is that this O'Neal fella seems like a cool customer who would be a great person to work for.
Agreed; For Baltes CMU would be a major step down in terms of salary, budget, and accessibility. He has a great situation at Grand Valley, and GVSU is better than most DI program around. He gets paid very well, his assistants are paid well, and the school supports the program. Other than the allure of DI there is nothing about CMU that is a step foward. Why would CMU replicate hiring someone just like Willie? They need to find someone with head coaching experience who has handled an entire program. Hopefully the athletic administration will do a better job this time of vetting their candidates.
It's a shame that Judge was released. He didn't have many throwers but did fairly well with what he had and if a team doesn't want to spend money on throwers how can a throws coach produce?
As for possible candidates look at Blaine Maag from GVSU who could be on the move to a big time school.
Willie did have head coaching experience. Not a great deal, but he was the head coach at New Orleans during the time katrina happened. He then went to Louisville as an assistant where the program was wildly successful. He was backed by the former head coach at CMU. He was a reasonable candidate. He was also well respected at cmu as a student athlete. It didn't work out, but to clarify, he did have head coaching experience. My gut says they will either they hire from within or they hire a head coach from a successful d2 school. That won't be baltes. He wouldn't go their and he rubbed them the wrong way when he interviewed their previously.

It's the Women's throws coach. Minnesota is 2 separate teams and the coach that is leaving is Lynne Anderson who is actually retiring.
http://www.gophersports.com/sports/w-track/spec-rel/061113aaa.htmlHow about they find a sprint coach first. Before they look for a new one. While they are looking. Find a new head man/woman.

Judge did a nice job and was a good guy. But... If you don't know the new head coach coming in, sometimes you get let go just for this reason. Too bad.... Adam did a great job at Indiana State before Ole Miss and took the job when a diff head coach was there in Miss. Then comes in new guy who wants his own staff to feel all warm and cuddly and powerful, and gets rid of people for no reason. It's the business and sucks at times.... So.. always know what you are getting in to... Know the long term plan of the head coach - and if they will take you somewhere if they leave. Risky profession for sure
Perhaps Vincent Bingham is ready to go in and do a complete overhaul of that program as he did for Kansas women's team that just won a NCAA Title.

But the "new guy" (Oneal) hired the other two assistants that were let go. They weren't even on staff for a year.
How can you let them go without them having a chance to prove themselves?
your question is logical and legitimate. therefore one should conclude there is another justifyable reason they were let go. and those that need to know do. if you are asking the question, then you don't need to know.
How is it possible that this has eluded the gossip chain? Or maybe I'm just out of it...: http://www.uwbadgers.com/sports/m-track/spec-rel/061413aaa.html
