Should actually be a pretty quiet year since there were several big changes last year.
BCS schools that I could POSSIBLY see some turnover at:
Texas - who knows on the women's side, combine m&w? could be huge.
South Carolina -
Tennessee - depends what happens this year...
Nebraska - coach p to retire soon? hire from within probably
I would add to that initial list the following possibilities:
USC (coach Ron Alice to retire soon)
Michigan - they have been non-factors the past few years.
I think there will a few others as well.
This is a pretty irresponsible thread at the moment.
Manhattan College Head XC/asst. Track phone interviews this week
Tiffin University (OH, DII) should have an official opening soon as XC coach Ron Martin has been fired. He is no longer listed as a coach on their cross country website. Interesting development as had been doing well for the dragons for the past few years
Pitt?
Why on earth would Tiffin can Martin?

Dan Steele to what ever school that will take him after winning "0" Missouri Valley Conference Championships in the past 4 years.
All of this after Steele being honored as National Coach of the Year while at the University of Oregon.
What's your problem with Dan, bro? Did he piss in your coke?
Was he fired, or did he retire. He has been coaching for a number of years?
They are looking for a graduate assistant for either sprints or distance.
Pitt officially filled.
Definitely fired. As I understand it there was tension between him and the head track coach Jeremy Croy (over what is still not clear, might be related to Martin wanting more autonomy with the distance runners during the track season) which led to Martin being fired by Croy.

Fisher is no longer running for the team. I've heard he won't be at Tiffin either. Quit and moving on.
Will Martin coach anyone else? A lot of school in Ohio could use him.
Gotta admit, it's pretty ballsy of Croy to fire a Hall of Fame coach over a pissing match. Can't be good for the distance crew which didn't bust a grape before Martin came to town.
I'm sure it was he hardest decision Croy ever made. Martin is a quasi-genious coach. Its a big mess. Tiffin can't be a distance school and compete in that conference. Croy wants to win. 9:10 and 4:
If Croy wants to win, he would think twice about actually coaching an event group.
9:10 and 4:15 guys don't walk on at Tiffin. It's hard to even get them to look. But that GlAC conference with Grand Valley has 3-5 of those every year.
And those freshmen are behind 5 more better than them and can take a year or two to develop.
Ron Martin did a great job and is a great recruiter and has lived and known this sport for over 30 years. I'm sure it was incredibly hard on Croy and just as much for Ron and the team.
Croy was a young coach that took a piece of crap head job with a joke of a track program at a school with no tradition, no facilities, and after 13 years has made a program that is probably that school's more nationally prominent and competitive program. Firing Martin is a shock I know and if all those kids quit after that then maybe Croy knows what he is doing. They must not have cared that much about their running to quit that easy. Dang, if you really loved to run and compete who cares who the coach is? Get it?
Loving to run is only part of the equation. Who the coach is would be another big part of the equation for many athletes. Firing a coach in the middle of the school year is low rent. The smartest thing Croy did in all these years was hire good assistants and get out of their way. Yeah, I and many others got it.
