How is it fair that these regions get another day of rest before Nationals? Can someone explain the reasoning?

Can anyone explain to me the rationale behind having had *yet another* Friday race? Would it have been impossible for these meets to have been held on Saturday?--just, you know, in case some of the participants would like to have attended class?

Extra day of recovery in between regionals and nationals. It's not like this is the first time these runners are missing class for a meet. . .

All Division I regionals are today.

I kind of agree, but the NCAA doesn't care about schoool. Hell most colleges barely have Friday classes anyway.
I think more meets are going to Friday's to give the coaches the weekend off - although it's not really off as they have to recruit, etc.
