I always thought I wanted to become a doctor.
However, the more I consider it I am just not sure it is worth it. And it is scary because now I am stuck with a biology degree as I am pretty far into school now and nowhere really to go with it. I have no intentions on researching either.
I have a quote on quote "bright future" in medicine, but I feel like I'm only in it this point because that's where the momentum is carrying me by now. I have essentially a 4.0GPA, run D1, good volunteer experience, etc. I don't doubt that with proper care I could get into medical school, but that potential is what everyone keeps telling me to continue chasing.
I'm mainly worried about the stress, hours, and length of education that is involved. I have basically ruled out becoming a GP due to the monotony of the job, and the lack of compensation - but speciality requires so many years.
Any of you in a similar situation at all? Any of you gone through with it, if so was it worth it?
