What's the course and what's the requirement to get into the elite mens race?

Too early for a parade. Better to volunteer the time and supplies to victims of the storm.

For the elite sections I would say sub15 men and run 18:30 women. We will see what the fields look like once we get closer to the races.

There won't be any supplies there to donate, were raising money to buy supplies!

Lauren - I wish you all would coordinate with the NYRR more - there are two NYRR races that very day, taking up 5000 local runners. Including the XC championships.

It was the only date we could possibly host the event and their are plenty of runners in the area to participate in the various races.

HS and College Teams can enter for $10 per runner to support the race. Any HS or College teams who are interested please email me for a team entry form.

So will twitter democracy shut down this race like they did the NYC Marathon? ....... NYC Marathon was staged,ready to go, and would have been on national/international television for no less than 2.5 hours live on ESPN.... ESPN has it's sh*t together and would have totally spun up some donation efforts in the commericals and commentary and special interest pieces of the neighborhoods and even runners in the race from those neighborhoods. Probably would have been the largest donation spike on the Sandy charity scale. More than any 5 oclock news anchor or Daily News hit piece.

Yet the 5 boro fifedoms wanted to fight like rats and drag eachother down....

Let by gones be by gones. Good luck with the race. NYC is unsustainable at every level of it's existence.

Are you serious? Another bum with no concept of reality. You think you can just drive over there and start moving trash around to help out? You'd run out of gas on your way home waiting in line for a fill up.

Better yet, go fill up your back pack with water bottles and chocolate and pass them out in 10 minutes. Seriously, get a brain. Get off people's asses who are poised to raise $$$$ from this damn storm and let them do it most efficiently.

Do you want long term REAL help, or a bunch of people on the ground milling about asking "what can we do?"

I'm sorry fools, but sometimes, money just makes the world go round and in this situation, big capital is gonna go a lot further than a 100 people offering to shovel sea weed off a sidewalk.

This is like the Columbus Bluejackets not wanting a Casino built close to their stadium and then after it is built elsewhere, getting 10 million dollars a year from Casino tax revenue so they don't go bankrupt and move.

The goal is to raise at least $20,000. That can buy a great deal of blankets and food. Even if you can't be there to run just enter and make the donation.
