Kristin is a terrific writer, and I have always enjoyed her Runners World blog. She's a class act.

yeah, class act who enjoys the wealth of her husband's past cheating. she was DIRECTLY involved with her "wasband's" shenanigans. drive by her "piddly little house" in austin sometime. she's as guilty as lance is. don't let the flowery words distract you.

What is "martial privilege"? Is that related to the legal principle of "martial law"? Or linked to "martial arts"?It's also the first time I ever saw the term "wasband" -- kinda funny.

By law she cannot testify against her husband. In general the US supports the sanctimony of marriage, so there is this principle that a spouse cannot testify against spouse. There are some exceptions, but that's what that is.

Ah no... by law she can't be forced to testify against her husband. Big difference.

The NDAs etc to me is an indication that she is shielding herself even more, want to keep that alimony coming in...

I think you meant "sanctity" rather than "sanctimony" but the phrase "In general the US supports the sanctimony of marriage" may also be true.

There are exceptions to spousal privilege, here is one of them: if the confidential communication was made in order to plan or commit crime or fraud,

I'd say handing out drugs with no prescription backing would be considered a crime.

Lance didn't marry a loser who was going nowhere. Kristin is a competent thinker, writer, and person in her own regard. Yes, she made an unfortunate choice of a husband, which except for the children, I'm sure she regrets. But you paint her as if she was a gold digger which she wasn't.
