Kansas men ran together as a pack the entire race and put five guys within aboun 8-seconds to defeat the #11 Indiana Hoosiers. The race was blown open by Texas Tech's Kennedy Kethucka who has to be a favorite for the NCAA title. This is a very tough place to race. Great to see such a solid team effort for the Jayhawks. Looks like Kansas is way better than unranked and maybe Indiana isn't the #11 team in the nation.
Women's race was gritty between #11 Michigan and #22 Toledo. After the covered bridge at 5k it appeared that Toledo was winning but in the final straight, the 4-5-6 of Michigan passed the 4-5 for Toledo and that was the difference. Furious finish by the Addison girl the last 200m. I cannot imagine there are 11 teams between these two programs.
Overall a great meet and I'm so proud to see inter-regional competition return to Rim Rock. So much tradition at this place. This is a tough course but fair!
