Being in a relationship with someone you're not very physically attracted to?

It's pretty simple, actually:

Tell her that, emotionally, you're just not in a place right now for a committed relationship. You really enjoy her company and would like to continue to spend time together (and lay cable), but you need to get your head right before things get too serious.

Result: your eyes (and your snake) are free to wonder, but you always have a familiar place to park your car at night if you need to.

It's okay. Most gay guys force themselves to date a few girls before admitting to themselves that they aren't into it.

Be honest with yourself and with her and end things soon. I was in a relationship somewhat like that, except the girl was ugly (decent body, yikes face). Let it drag on a couple of months too long, making the breakup more difficult and awkward.

Tell her you have genital warts. It'll get the job done, and you won't even have to lie!

I've known George Castanza looking str8 men who would describe themselves as "decent looking guy" who dumps really good looking girls cause they found a better looking girl and they think they can continue this streak forever.

Why do people feel the need to be in exclusive, "committed" relationships anyway? It seems like its a socially (read, female) driven phenomenon and goes against male instincts.

I've tried to date hot, plain, crazy, sane, career-minded, service-industry, moms, older, younger, weird, normal, wealthy, middle-class, lower-class, blond, brunette, red-head, mixed-race, black, white, asian, latina, you-name-it females.

I was never happy with any of them for too long. Long-term relationships were a major struggle just to stay interested. My eyes always wandered. I was always interested in other females. No matter how great "my girl" was I was always bored and disinterested after 6 months.

I think you should let her know you're not into a committed relationship and don't want her to limit herself by being committed to you. It's not necessarily a "dump" but just to redefine the terms of your social contract to include a non-exclusivity clause.

She should be just as free to date other people. Just make sure you both agree and both practice safely.
