I'm from Flagstaff and Mike kicks ass. You are luck to get him and I hope you appreciate it. What he built here is a real reflection of him and it is a great thing for our community. Put away the cynical attitude for a while and you might be surprised.
Seems like a very exciting challenge for the new coach. He has already proven he can get a community with different levels of ability and ages to appreciate him very much. Now he has the defending collegiate national champs who probably weren't happy to lose their coach to work with. If he can get them to believe in him like the people of Flagstaff, then we could be looking at a very bright future for the Hoyas. He obviously understands training very well, so now it is about the team buying into his new system.
The article really didn't come off too well imo. I know it is a farewell letter, but it looks like a bunch of ass-kissing and kind of gives off this silly, happy-go-lucky attitude. I could imagine there could be some recruits and athletes that would be turned off by the vibe of the article. It would probably help if there was an article about why he will be a great coach at GTown, not why people like him. People might not question him as much if there were more available information about his coaching accomplishments, athletes he coached, etc.
