Pretty amazing recovery time. I am sure his doctors gave him a bit of slack for that video.
I do question how motivated he will be to get on a bike again. Having been in multiple, substantially less severe bike incidents I have virtually zero desire to ever ride again.
Amazing turnaround:
A Duck is a total a-hole toolbag message board poster.
He starts a thread about LVs progress and some posters give him some positive feedback.
Now A Duck only makes proper and nice posts. It's hilarious. A Duck is so easily manipulated. Makes me laugh.

He has that look on his face like his wang is gone forever.
(lisping loudly) does it ever!(/lisping loudly)

1) Who cares about what an a-hole toolbag message board poster says when you can't see them through the computer screen?
2) Who says OP's message was "proper and nice" rather than informative?
3) From which of the above comments has the OP received positive feedback?
awesome!!!
Great! When do the effin rods come out of his back?

There's always a risk posting something on a Sat evening...
MTV: try and understand that there is message board nonsense and there is real life.
A few people on the board...like lots of them, actually give an ish about the kid's recovery.
Try and keep things in real life perspective once in a while...
Seriously, I wonder how many of you drink and post...

That's a big question.
Thank god is is young enough to have max healing powers.
His sponsor should be Louis Vuitton
When you think about it, it's the best possible time to be injured. He's 19, so he still has the healing powers of children. It's RIGHT after the olympics, so he has 4 years to recover.
Also, maybe he'll stick to the running from now on. Of course I hope he makes whatever decision he is most happy with, but still, I'd love to see him back in running action.
I remember he was quoted saying he'd have to run like 12:35 5000m to be competitive on the world stage. I think he might have just built that up in his head. He's so talented, I hope he becomes a full-time runner again!
Who cares? He's not "a Duck" any longer. Forget him; I have.

My guess is he will stick with the Tri. It is a whole different world.
As to the "who cares" person, he may no longer be a Duck, but once a Duck, Always a Duck. He still has friends there, and they understand his decision. Not everyone has the choice of choosing from one of two sports. He was already World Jr. Tri Champ, so why not go where it makes him happy. He did, the crash was just damned bad luck.
Great to see him up and moving like that!!!! He's looking so much stronger! I sure hope that he can return to full form again but if it doesn't happen, I'm just glad he's at least able to run and jog still!
Which has me thinking, hummmmm????
Why golly now's the perfect time to start really doping it up with all kinds of steroids, PED's and EPO so that when he does get back to competition, all those goodies will still be deep down in his system and undetectable - kinda like Lance did!
And his "Wang?" Well, it would truly be depressing if it didn't function any longer or if it "functioned perfectly" but he couldn't actually feel it!'$hit!!!
But hey, if things aren't working down stairs, then he's still got his tongue!!!

Why the blazes and how do they put rods in someone's back anyway?
That's amazing he is running already. Is that quotation by him? "I would walk endlessly every day trying to do more and more, today it paid off!"
Why the blazes and how do they put rods in someone's back anyway?
I don't know but they do.
I don't remember which handle I used - I don't think I have any registered handles anymore - but when the LV walking video was posted I said it was very encouraging and everyone ripped me.But as one of the only message boarders with experience w/ broken vertebrae and spinal cord injury, I could tell that this video was not that far off. LV is going to make a nearly full recovery I think. Dude is still wearing a neck brace and jogging.

As for why they put metal rods in, it's to protect the integrity of the spinal column and the spinal cord. If you damage your vertebrae, the pieces could still shift and damage your spinal cord more. And it your spinal column wasn't intact your torso wouldn't have any support. So they screw rods into the vertebrae above and below the level of injury.
The rods CAN come out - and it LV returns to triathlon he might want them out for bike riding positioning - but usually they DON'T come out because it's an invasive and slightly risky procedure that doesn't have benefit other than for flexibility.
A Duck has turned into a caring, respectful individual after a little positive feedback on a thread a few days ago. So funny. Psych 101. He just wants attention. He got it because he was a annoying then I went away because we got bored of it. Now he is getting it for being nice so he keeps being nice. I am so humored by the simplicity of it and simplicity of A Ducks mind.
doesn't anyone else think it's a little early to be jogging? He crashed July 31?
if he does make it back he'll make millions from the movie hollywood will make.
