monmouth wins then who knows
central then monmouth
Monmouth finally gets their XC championship after many close calls. CC has lost too much to graduation! But still a quality team- they get 2nd followed by Quinnipiac
QU looks like an entirely different team this year...should be interesting to see how all these teams look once october comes around. im sure most teams have been holding back some runners this early in the season.

Thomas Dextradeur should win just about every race he runs from here on out. He has put in some serious mileage this summer, including some unreal tempo runs (5 milers sub 25 for example - he did that 4 times over the course of the summer). I legitimately expect a conference victory out of him, and if/when he pulls that off, QU should follow close behind and win the team competition as well.
Considering he is only a sophomore, sub 25 tempos are pretty legit. Does anyone know his background?
Obviously QU is about 4th or 5th in the league, but with Dextradeur gunning for the individual title, maybe they can pull something off if the supporting crew steps up.
I can vouch for him. I went to his high school. I graduated in his brothers grade but I think he ran pretty decent times like 4:3x in the mile and 9:4x in the two mile after I had left, but he has crazy good work ethic. I heard he was killing it over the summer so assuming the hard training pays off he will be really good
Israel aside, I heard one of qu's guys has been blasting a lot of waka in his car getting pumped up for the season while simultaneously avoiding the mystery puddle in his back seat
it isn't cut and dry this year
there aren't even really two dominant teams that are a lock for the first two spots
with ccsu shu qu mu and sfu it will be an interesting season
still very early though, so hold your judgements until october
So how about the women?
Preseason polls seem ridiculous
bryant seriously underranked in womens poll
If Colby Delbene runs (ccsu) hes the clear favorite individually.
QU has a good group of young guys and returned Richard Klauber as a fifth year, but no sign of Mike Levine yet.
Monmouth also has a good group of young guys including soph Kari Bowen and look very strong thus far.
St Francis PA has 4 or 5 good guys and put 4 or 5 in the top 20 last year so they also look strong but who knows with a new coach.
SHU hasn't shown much yet and they usually start pretty strong. They return Chris Connelly and apparently Richard Marcello has a fifth year.
MSM has a few guys, same with Wagner but not sure if they have enough to place.
Eric Blake will have CCSU ready by late October.
Predictions:
Delbene, Klauber, Connelly, Bowen, Gruschow
Teams: Monmouth, QU, CCSU, SHU, SFPA
Do any of you guys have a clue what is going on in the NEC? Or are you talking about the women?
Monmouth and QU contenders for the win? No chance in hell. Central Connecticut is going to win easily there aren't any teams even close (no I'm not from there). And Hunt from CCSU is the clear favorite unless he transferred or is injured.
we have a clue...and theres no clear favorite to win the conference on the mens side. central graduated a few of their top guys, monmouth will be strong (NEC strong), qu is a dark horse, and sfpa always surprises
Hunt isn't listed on their roster.
Interesting news about Hunt. Either way I would still take them as the favorite. Their number 3 guy did not perform well last year at the conference meet and they had a few good indoor and outdoor performances.
Bottom line is that CCSU has the best coach in the conference. Their roster does look depleted, but I can't see anybody making a run at them. Maybe Monmouth, but definitely not QU after the loss of their track team a few years back.
Hunt is redshirting it looks like:
I still stand by my prediction though with CCSU going for the win. Monmouth and SFUPA should be up there even with the depleted roster of the red flash.

How so?
They've got one decent runner and were ranked 7th coming in. They'll be very lucky to be top 6
Mostly agree,
CCSU is too good not to win they're going to walk all over everyone. Monmouth will come the closest. Outside of CCSU and MU, QU is good, then SFPA, then MSM, then maybe SHU because they never finish well. SFNY dark horse for top 5.
