Nice to see this story hit the MSM. Maybe they will start realising that there may be repercussions to their actions.
Any controversy is due to Mark Block, Carmelita Jeter, and Jason Richardson. They have brought this to themselves.
Nefarious deeds would be restricted to message boards and fearful journalists if these individuals were smarter and hadn't broadcast their public association.
Considering the mainstream press is now finally picking up on this story, kudos to the Brojos! Now why would you have a problem with that?

How long until both Johnsons are not invited to and banned from all track and field press conferences?
I just realized that the newspaper reporters who managed to keep a job in the print media are all the best in the game. Newspaper reporters for the Guardian and Washington Post know how to get the dirt out there, come out looking like the good guys, and keep a positive spin on their articles to make their bosses happy. They managed to divulge all the shady dealings and associations between Block and US athletes while coming out looking like the good guys. Brilliant! Wejo and Rojo, answerable to no one, don't have to be as tactful.
"Main Stream" outlets are rolling in with their own spin on this story now. The only one to give any kudos or references the brojos what soever has been SI's Tim Layden. Moral victory I suppose.
Seeing the difference in answers from the first press conference to now is what I find most interesting. There's obviously a level of discomfort throughout. Weird how "My agent is Chris Layne." was a good answer at first but once Mark Block got his interview on Flotrack, the answer shifted to actually talking about him. She could have just ignored the question completely. Maybe it's the difference in setting or something. Oh well, good stuff, keep it up Brojos.
"I think I enjoyed also how you tell me I went from 13.3 to 12.9 in one year, which was actually wrong, so you might want to retract that."
Richardson had a PR of 13.21 in 2008
In 2011 he dropped his PR to 13.04
This year he has run 12.98
So .23 s over 4 years.
His 2010 best was 13.34 so it looked liek a .3 drop in one year but on reflection 2010 was just a bad year.
I think you're reading your own numbers wrong there Johnson.
You missed his 2011 PR.

Jeter: "I have just won a medal and that's all you can ask!?"
Oops, sorry, Pharmacita. Journalists should only ask questions like "How happy are you to have won a medal?" and "What were you thinking during the race?"
What an idiot.
Shoulds have asked her what she's doing in Darfur?
They should ask her about the race, or the competition.
The question was more about the journalist than the athlete.
If it was a man, I am sure the journo would have pussed out. The likelihood of Jeter punishing him after is lower.
The arrogance of Mark Block to continue his very visual and public association with Nike and these athletes clearly caused this controversy. I like that its been picked up by major media. A good thing.
Kudos to Weldon and Robert.

Can anyone translate this?
Amazed- just looked at Yahoo sports- this story with mention of Wejo is ABOVE the stories on Robert Griffin III and the Heisman candidate getting kicked off the LSU team.
GOOD Work Gentlemen.
How dare you question the great black athlete. That be raysis and a crime against humanity. Now lemme count to 10 befo' I pop a cap in yo a$$ for questioning the integrity of my royal personage.
Read Carl Lewis' comments about Usain Bolt. He has a far more realistic view of doping in track/field. Btw while everyone slobbers over Bolt I think we should all be a little more circumspect.
Brojo's are not reporters , they are bloggers plain and simple.
Writing skills , well let's just say keep working at it.
15 minutes of fame are fleeting at best so enjoy it boys.
This so called burning issue is not relevant to anything of critical importance to the sport. Mark Block goes quiet , so what.
Are there less drugs in the sport ?
Any big revalation's to change the sport ?
No of course not , just a little trumped up sensationalism that makes a few people feel good.

It is small thinking like this that keeps T&F an obscure sport.
