I'm thrilled with their coverage of womens gymnastics. I love looking forward to sitting down in front of the tv and lusting over those beautiful asses! Gymnasts asses are the best!
But only those over the age of 18. The Romanian uniforms were almost obscene.
NBC live extra app poorly rated, Tablet access prohibited.
"Signing into the app is like being given a giant middle finger by the cable companies and NBC."
"Those lacking a pay-TV package can’t access even though the app includes banner and other advertising. "
"NBC has managed to do a better job blocking tablet browsers than making a quality app... Clearly you hate your customers,"
Stars and Stripes says NBC tactics irritate Americans serving in the military:

As of Wednesday, AFN Europe had received about 70 complaints from viewers, including military members and contractors in Afghanistan, by email, phone calls, online survey forms and Facebook postings, said George Smith, AFN Europe operations manager.
“I cannot believe AFN did not broadcast the Track and Field event last night,” read a post onAFN Europe’s Facebook page Monday, a day after Bolt won gold in the men’s 100-meter track and field final. “It was only the greatest and most hyped event of the Olympics. AFN had volleyball, Hockey and tennis, while the 100m Mens Finals were going on.”

As much as I don't like a lot about NBC's coverage they're ratings are as high as they've been since Atlanta. There's zero chance they're going to lose their broadcast rights. For the most part, the "outrage" is constrained to a subset of whiners, so it's not building and building at all.
I find it funny that "outrage" is coming people upset by NBC trying to maximize profits, with people extolling the virtues of BBC. Many of these same people complain about taxpayer funded entities like BBC in the US saying all broadcasters should be "businesses" with a profit motive.

Not true. I'm using the app in my tablet and it is working seamlessly. There are commercials, but I can view every event that I want to. NBC got it right.

Just goes to show that a publicly funded organization like the BBC (mandated to delivery quality coverage to a nation), can beat the sh!t out of a private corporation (mandated to deliver profits to a few shareholders).

The only problem with your post is that NBC's overall coverage and availability is vastly superior to what the BBC has been offering.

That's a joke right? What would you rather see, 5 minutes on British etiquette last night or the 3000m steeplechase final.
Not showing track finals.

Steve Cram is possibly the best commentator in the world and he is ably supported by Brendan Foster, Colin Jackson and Michael Johnson among others.
