That would be much more accurate seeing as though there was a lot of soft spots due to the rain for the past few days prior.

1 freshman from Malone ran 24:37...Look at the open race man, it will never be close. GV has new kids every year. Also to the measuring guy, so 235 meters short is roughly what like 45 seconds? For an extremely flat course that was a lot of gravel that seems REALLY short... Not doubting the measurement but are you 100% sure?
You know I give Grand Valley credit, they dominated the race and the open one too. However what I don't agree with is the schools enrollment numbers.
Ashland- 6,900
Ferris State- 14,560
University of Findlay- 4,400
GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY- 23,464
Hillsdale- 1,200
Lake Erie College- 1,300
Lake Superior State- 3,100
Malone- 2,440
Michigan Technological- 7,132
Northern Michigan- 9,400
Northwood- 1,900
Ohio Dominican- 3,000
Saginaw Valley State 10,124
Tiffin University- 4,000
Walsh- 2,982
Wayne State- 29,046
If you look at these numbers it's only fair that a school with TENFOLD most other schools in the conference should win by a land slide. I don't doubt that GVSU will continue to dominate the GLIAC and good for them but it's not impressive with those kind of numbers.
here comes the excuses.
No excuses just facts.

what does the number of students that attend your school have to do with how good your cross country team is. You maloneys baloneys are making us ohio guys look bad/dumb. You guys got beat...bad. Just accept it/admit it you guys got your fannies spanked by the superior team.
Hey Gilmore, better luck next year.
I'm not even on a team that is in your conference. In fact I'm on a team that is ranked higher than you in the Division II polls, not that it really matters, the real season is just beginning. Good for you to win this weak conference over teams that have nowhere near as many runners as you. I go to a school that has, maybe an eighth of your numbers. See you at nationals.
Oh and thanks; you GVSU guys made this thread a fun one to watch over the past month. You guys should focus on training more and less on running your mouths and speculating things on here.
Yeah, d1 schools like Tulsa, Wake Forrest, Butler and Duke all have undergrads of less than 7,000. Put them in the GLIAC because they are smaller than most Michigan schools.
You previously said you been to CALVIN and the ALL-OHIO but now you say you are on a team that is ranked higher, which are schools out west..
Yeah...Bull$hit on this one!
Shame on me, I posted lies and things that weren't true.. I'm such a bad person, the bad guy.. hahahaha. See you at nationals GVSU, if you even make it there.
For the record I run for a team in the RMAC, I have a grudge against GVSU and don't even know anything about the school Malone except they got it handed to them yesterday from looking at results. I was hoping someone would dethrone you guys and shut you the hell up.
LOL ok I'm done.
I would like to know why on earth---if you are who you say you are--would come to a GLIAC forum for the past month if your not in the GLIAC. I'm sorry your team took second. Second is not too bad. I mean, its not first. But you get a gold star for trying.
AT THE GVSU, they have a GREAT coach. A coach who does not post on Letsrun. A coach who doesn't have excuses just results. The result this year was numero uno.
Karma: Doesn't it hurt.
I'm sure the gVSU guys looked at your posts and used it for motivation. Malone is famous for blowing up All-Ohio threads, NAIA threads or any other conference they were in. You guys run your mouths.
We don't run for God, but we run our hearts out.
Simple because I don't like GVSU for personal reasons. I like to see them fail. I get satisfaction out of them losing after what one of their runners did to one of my teammates in the national race last year. Until I graduate I will have a severe hatred for them and then probably many years after. It doesn't matter. We'll stomp them at nationals like last year.
You guys do a great job of speculating. ;)
Please. You are not from Adams State or Western State. Those guys wouldn't worry about em any given year. No one is buying this. Please Stop. You're just making yourself look like a big jerk.
I'm calling bullcrap on the person that "measured the course twice" after the meet. I find it very hard to believe you ran 16k after the meet to make sure it was short. That didn't happen.
As an Athlete at the meet. I did see someone walking around with a wheel. Just saying.
Coaches do walk the course to measure. I know the mile was off by 20 or 30 meters. I'm counting this as a PR boys.
Hey, I and a friend wheeled the course at the meet. It was a little over 200 meters short for the men. Does not take away from the placement.
Can we get an the meet director to verify this!?
Hey,
Calm down, the person said they went back and re measured. It's clear the course was either A) REALLY FAST and slightly downhill or B) Short!
They will be people who get mad when they hear the course was short because they just PR'ed by 30+ seconds.
If it was one team that ran blazing fast it would be a heck of a peak, but it was EVERY team on the line that Pr'ed by a great deal. IF they didn't PR than they must have ran really bad!
Some of the teams on the line still have to run at the Regional and National meet. SO teams like GVSU, Ashland, Tiffin, Ferris are not going to peak for this meet because they have so much time to go. If the course was 100% correct -Which it was not- I would be worried about these teams lasting till championship season, regional and nationals.
Having a course like this that was short doesn't take away from the team title. It may take away some confidence for future races if you say hey my Pr is 24:30 at conference why did I run 25:15 today?
As previous posters said, some complained how GVSU ran on a FAST FAST FAST Louisville course, and well they PR'ed at conference. I don't see GLIAC coming back and saying anything.
Enrollment numbers dont matter idiot, GVSU has 3.1 scholarships to give for track and XC so i think you are just mad of what they can do with no money for their athletes.
