German's a 5k guy! I assume he's only doing the 15 at the moment due to his lack of base fitness from injuries.

Vin Lanana is an obvious choice. German's HS coach says the training they used was mostly Daniels. Vin is a huge Daniels guy especially during his Stanford days.
German is not a high mileage runner and needs a program that is going to accommodate for this quirk,at least for the near future. Maybe five years later he'll be a 70 to 100 mpw type runner. But for the time being he's more like a 50 to 70 mpw guy (Lagat, Seb Coe, Jim Spivey type of mileage).
The old Stanford Farm team would have been an ideal set up with the Daniels based system and being within 2 hours from his home town.
German is fine with the miles.
The miles are not what's been hurting him.
You're right the miles haven't been hurting him at all. Dave Smith is to blame his workouts are too intense for the guy

How do you folks know stuff like this. Even a teammate training alongside German would be wild-assed speculating to say something like this. Heck, even German himself can't say with any real confidence what has been the primary culprit in his injury problems.
And yet you come on here and enlighten all of us with your infinite wisdom and knowledge. Who are you, God or something?
I think Salazar has the organization to help and protect and heal German. Medical diet planning, medical staff,PT's,
clinical round the clock attention and therapy. M.D. core planning..on and on. I love the pool work for German. Hey,
Ritz is still with Salazar 100%. He was with Salazar, Rupp, Ulrey, Mo and Centro this weekend at attitude. Ritz had his wife and family with him also.

Schumacher... I'm a huge fan, but not impressed of late. He clearly doesn't have enough control over his athletes mileage/effort levels (see Solinsky's comments... he was given way too much freedom).
Jager, Teg, Solinsky... all badly injured w/in the last 2 years.
Bairu... massively underperforming his collegiate success.
Nelson... AWOL in the Olympic year
Kara and Shalane: Rock Solid
Lomong: running OK. Could go from Olympian to not making the team, though (I know everyone loved his 5k, but Rupp and Lagat will beat him... so that leaves 1 spot).
Bumbi: Running decent, but no big jumps yet.
Again, I like Schumacher ... but would feel a lot better if he was able to keep his guys healthy before sending Fernandez there.
Could somebody please explain to me why everyone hates Schumacher?? Don't really follow running much anymore, but correct me if I'm wrong but Schumacher did get Teg, solinsky, and Jager to world's ...got both Teg and Solinsky under 13. and Solinsky under 27 for 10k...Bairu Canadian 10k national record.......I'd say he's done a pretty decent job...runners are always gonna get injured that's just part of it, and maybe he could do a better job of keeping them away from injuries, but he has done a lot of good for them.

Salazar is a great coach and might be the best place for German. Mo trains in Kenya for parts of the year. The group travels to Park City to train at altitude. German would have the opportunity for this too. Salazar is coaching a couple of the fastest 10,000m runners in the world, has been there himself, and is a great mid distance coach, perhaps greater than he was as a runner. Training with him would be a good place and a stable place for German.
