3:35.42. I'm being optimistic here. If the race is fast enough he should get the standard. However, even if he gets it, it doesn't mean he'll be able to compete at the trials. He just doesn't have any gears right now. Maybe we'll see some magic by the trials, but that would be something of a miracle.
I think he's a year away from a return to quality (3:32ish) running. Next year, we'll know for sure whether or not he'll ever be back.
I predict that he will run a faster time than...
ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on you guys, you can't keep just laying them out there for me. :)
Go WEBB!
A week ago I would have said there is no way Webb sneaks on the team. He's a finals guy, but could not beat Monzano, Centro, Wheating, Brown, Torrance and Lomong if he ran.
After Pre...
Wheating is more then beatable.
Lomong is definitely running the 5000.
That leaves Centro, Monzano, Brown, Torrance, Webb.
I like Brown AND Torrance. I called last year when Brown was out to a fast start hat he would fizzle out as the season went on. My rationale had nothing to do with his talent, work ethic, or his training. It was more because he hadn't had a full season in so long because of injuries... he was bound to get tired. And he did.
I also mentioned that if he could get continued uninterrupted training through this year, he would be a contender at the trials. That looks to hold true.
I think Torrance is clearly very very good and very very fit... but I just have this gut feeling that he will be left off the team.
I feel like there is just as good a chance that Monzano blows up as there is that Webb has his best race in 4 years.
Centro still feels like a lock, but after Pre, who knows.
Bottom line... the 1500 is more open for Webb right now then it was a week ago.
If he runs 3:35 in NY... its entirely possible peaking and real sharpening gets him another 1.5-2 seconds over the last month before the trials.
As such... I think Webb has about a 25% chance of making the team. This is up from maybe a 10% chance a week ago.
He will slip in a 12.9 100m somewhere in the race

-OP, why do you seemingly revel in another man's failure? Do you realize that this is his livelihood? That this is how he feeds his family? I don't understand, man. Why would you not encourage him instead of push negativity his way?
3:34:96. You heard it here first.

huh?
Manzano. Torrence. Both misspelled in your post and both I feel will make the team.
Russel Brown will not.
7:52 ... Yes he is gonna run like a fat kid after a thanksgiving meal
3:29 ALL THE WAY!
3:34.72 WEBB IS BACK BABY
-don't even try, I have it won.

If he slips a 12.9 in the final 100m then he'll likely get the OG A standard.
And 12.9 100m "joke" in every Webb thread ceased to be funny along time ago.

3:33.99 take that 3:34 12:58 26:48. Webb>>>>>>>> rupp
Rupp > Webb in the 1500m/Mile right now. And, in a year or two Rupp might be able to break Webb's Mile AR in race that he trains through.
Why does everyone think he will run mid 3:30's after a 3:59 mile?
The 3:59 was a fluke of field and conditions. Before that he ran 3:37 off 1:51. Throw a lil SW in, and Webb just might run 3:35.49...
3:29 high
he's blaaaaaaaacckkkkkkkkkkkk
Since I'm rooting for him: 3:36.8. If I weren't: 3:34.3.
