I had Brannon Kidder at 1:50 for this split. Broke open the 4x800 in DI. West North was never in it! Crazy girls 4x8 also. Nice day today, times should be faster than last night!!

Friend of mine had him at 1:49. Regardless, he rolled. It'll be interesting this afternoon. If the wind settles down, the weather will be perfect for him to take a shot at Kennedy's record. We'll see...
Where is Kidder going next year? Nice runner! Pretty windy today but nice temp wise, I'll say 4:08 tonight!
The Columbus Academy rocked D3 today by over 30 points. 2 guys gong 1:53,29 and 1:53.59 in the 800m to go 1 and 2.
The coach Bob Kirk has been there since like 1975 and always has great teams. Great job Cosch Kirk and all the Academy guys.
Kidder to Penn State
I can def see Kidder has a 1:48 800 type. Not sure where the 1500/mile will go, lower I'm sure. Under 4:00? We'll see.
ETHian broke the 3200 record going 8:55. And the 300 IH was completely sick! 35.98!!!
I was at the meet and heard the announcement that 8:55 is a state record. Didn't Ricky Pittman run 8:46 at Bellaire back in 1980? How is that not a state record?

Was Pittman's a straight up two mile vs 3200?
I thought Kidder didn't make grades, was a non-qualifier, and would have to go to JC? Quite a leap to get into Penn State if true?
Prob was 2 mile.. I'm sure many have been under 9 at that distance!

Not sure where you got the information... Brannon's grades are solid and his test scores are excellent.
It was a 3200 and I see now that it was a hand time which I'm sure the OHSAA would not allow for a record. Too bad as it was rare to have an auto time back then.

It's a state meet record. If the OHSAA calls it more than that, they're not very smart.
Def won't argue that logic, but you know as well as I do that they've been calling Chris Kollar's 8:56 the state record for some time now.

The ironic part of this is, if I recall correctly, the state meet was hand timed in 1980. So, if the fact that Pittman's 8:46.3 was hand timed is the hold up on state record status, then that eliminates state meet marks as well. It's also possible that the proper paperwork was not filed as well. Either way, it's a crock. And don't get me started on Alan Scharsu's 2 mile being vastly superior to any of the aforementioned marks.
