Really, is maintaining a 3.0 GPA in college difficult? I don't think I'd be bragging about that.

I guess you weren't a student-athlete.
Actually, I was. 3.0 ain't sh*t.
What is the average GPA overall for college students? What is the average GPA overall for student athletes?
It is not easy for everyone to maintain a 3.0 GPA. Congratulations if it was easy for you. What school did you go to and what was your major?
I'm not trying to be arrogant. But, I'm just saying a 3.0 gpa for undergrad isn't anything to get excited about. In a way, it's similar to celebrating the fact that you graduated high school....it's just not that hard.

With grade inflation, I would say that TODAY it is easier to be a student-athlete and maintain above a 3.0 GPA. Go back 20 plus years and it was harder -- from what I hear from current college professors and people who should know; I don't pretend to know.

3.0 is below average at most schools. It ain't like the old days anymore.
At my school the average GPA was something like 3.4 for the arts and sciences, and engineering was more like 3.2. Just about every internship requires you to have a GPA over 3.0, so it clearly isn't too impressive.
Depends on the major. Psychology major? Not very impressive.Biochemistry, math, engineering majors (and the like)=impressive or MORE impressive than the "easy" ones. And yes, I actually DID have an "easy" major. I was a Spanish major but just because you have a 3.9 or 4.0 doesn't mean you know a language. I talked to peeps that had spent 8 months abroad and I spoke, wrote, understood, and read MUCH better than them without having studied abroad yet. Its all in what you put in the major.

And this thread is already full of Caucasians bragging about their GPA like it actually means something.
No one in this thread has mentioned his GPA or race.
Why do you assume that all of the posts so far were made by males?
Personally I would be embarrassed to even mention my GPA was 3.0 if it was. And yes, I'm a student athlete. 3.0 is below average even for student-athletes at the schools I've attended. Why would anyone brag about being below average?

Mixed groups are considered masculine. So you say 'he' unless you know the posters are all female (or you say 'he or she' like an obnoxious wimp).

If so, you'd be able to correctly spell shit.
0.2/10 on the troll meter and you're lucky to get that much.
The girls XC team at my school had like a 3.9 average GPA.
