Police and fire (which she falls under) tend to get the sweetest deals. Usually 20 years and out, with a huge pension. Police and fire, btw, tend to be heavily Republican AND supported by Republican politicians.
In Wisconsin, the Governor killed the collective bargaining rights of almost every union EXCEPT police and fire, because, you know, those unions vote for Republicans. It's the same here in Indiana, where a police officer is making nearly $60k after 3 years, gets a take home car, and can retire at 20 years. "Regular" public employees have to work at least 30 years, and don't get those goofy overtime boosts that this lady did...
So as much as I'd like to blame the libs for this one, remember the favoritism that Republicans show the Police and Fire unions..
Anyone know what the pension benefits are for the Wisconsin Gov after he leaves office?? Probably $100K per year at least, for life. Who decides those benefits?.......oh wait, he does.
That's the biggest joke out there. The legislators, seat holders, and others in charge turn public service into a public fleecing where all they have to do is pass through the process to collect the benefits for life. Everyone wants to run for something to suck the teat of public monies, the biggest $$ pile out there. Certainly not the intentions of the writers of the Contstitutions, but everyone wants a piece. Don't like it, vote'em out but the next person who goes in will get the same benefits.....and why would they change lifetime pension benefits for themselves. Just keep sending me bills.
