He started at the finish line and ended at the start
it ran out of juice
Kip Litton?
Whether he starts at the finish or the end, running backwards is hard....I give him props. Link?

I agree and would like to add that stating the start or beginning would also be difficult.
That's impossible. 16:20 backwards is 02:61. Nobody could run 3 minutes and 1 second for the 5K.
hey! this really sounds like something I could latch onto that is complete bullsh*t!
19.32 is the world record apparently
I know Brian Godsey, who holds that 5k record. His frontwards 5k is nearly 14 flat, so it'll take a pretty outstanding runner to beat his 19:31.
If this is true, which I doubt, that would be incredible. I ran a mile backwards in 6:52 and could barely walk the next day.
Y'all missed the point of his post.
He ran it backwards meaning he started at the FINISH and ended at the START.
This is backwards of the way the course is supposed to be ran.
Clever wording by him though to get views.
Come on guys... he said it in the OP.
He wasn't facing backwards. He started at the finish and ended at the start, thus running the race in reverse (backwards).
Apparently, this was a good troll attempt? Guy says something simple yet almost clever, yet people eat it up...

I'm laughing at the visual of him outkicking someone to the finish line and staring directly at them while he's doing it.

Yes, this is obvious, but backwards running is much more interesting.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
