The guy is only 19. WJXC Champ. Ran "comfortably" with Mutai for 35k in Berlin. 59:31 in his third half. What say you?

"I participated in the World Junior Cross Country Championship."
"I won."
Bloody matter of fact, this lad. Good on him.
Leonard Patrick Komon (10K-15K record holder) is in the race too hoping for the WR- should be very good

komon pulled out of the race
You're talking over a minute of improvement at an already elite level. Only four people EVER have broken 59 minutes by more than ten seconds. Tergat's best is something like 59:06.
Great speed in youth does not guarantee greater speed at maturity.
It is going to be close. The guy looked relax when he paced Makau in Berlin.

Some very big names he destroyed this afternoon
Kirop has some balls stepping up to the 12k. I respect that.
I meant Kiprop.
Beating Geoffrey Mutai by almost a minute means alot especially that Mutai is in a faily good shape(finished third a week ago-2secs behind the winner). Also the fact that Isaiah Koech came in more than a minute after Kipsang means that this guy is bad news! His performance is only reminiscent of Geoffrey Mutai's 2011 season. He should go for the half marathon world record as well because this could be his best chance. And btw, I think 35:00 is the fastest time ever on that course.
