I started running about two years ago. It has been pretty casual and on and off due to injuries but at the end of last year i put a lot of effort in for the nationals, and off 3 or 4 months of pretty hard training i ran 2:06.44 800m there - a ten second PB.
Now i'm dedicated to spend this next year training as hard as i can to become the best middle distance runner i can be. What do you think I will be able to get with after a year of this? 3 months building up the mileage and including things tempos, reps, long runs, hills etc, 3 months at a high mileage after having built it up with not as much speed training as before but still a significant amount to keep it up, 3 months of lowering the mileage and starting speed and track work again then 3 months of racing and lots of track stuff.
Is sub 2 minutes a realistic goal? Should I aim for even faster than that? Any other tips?
