From the Prometheus Society website (which claims less than 100 members worldwide, so I assume Flagpole isn't one of them), the following all correspond to their minimum criteria of 1:30,000 intelligence:
Individuals with indicated minimum scores on these tests shall be entitled to the rights and privileges of Membership in the Prometheus Society:
MAT (“old”): a score of 98
SAT (“old”): a score of 1560 (taken before April 1, 1995)
Interesting, and thanks for the info. Looks like I could qualify twice over, but
1) I don't know how I'd ever find a score report from that long ago,
2) I'm a *long* way from the IQ scores that they accept, so I'd feel rather fraudulent, and
3) I already have enough opportunities for self-congratulation.
OTOH maybe they're very different from the Mensa folks. (Yeah, I know the entrance criteria are different, I'm talking about personality here.) I've met a good number of Mensans--no surprise, six million Americans could qualify--some of whom were nice, and some of whom were not-so.
