Okay, yesterday before practice my Achilles was feeling a little weird. But I still did the workout. Then it felt weirder after, and then I went on a night run later, and it still felt weird. And then today, easy day, I cycled on the stationary bike. And my coach had me balance barefoot on one foot on a half exercise ball. I just tried jogging up the street, and I can still feel it. I'm afraid this is going to get bad, and I got this last winter too. My coach said it was the cold, because my ankles were exposed, between my running tights and socks. I'm really scared about this, and I don't want this to turn into something bad. Last season, I kept running on it on and off, and somehow it got better. Last season it randomly showed up one race, and this one was random too. It's on my left foot, in the middle, and hurts when I put my thumb in the pit. My shoes are starting to get pretty worn out (New Balance Minimus Road), but I've been training in these for over a year, with no problems, and we have less mileage now since it's track season.
What do I do to make this go away?
Higher heeled casual shoes? (I usually wear low shoes)
Anti-inflammatory cream? (I have tetranoin)
I'm about to buy new shoes.
