Finally a good guy gets a great coaching opportunity. Good Pickup Clemson.
2 good young throws coaches have turned down Illinois State they are now re-opening the search...
Had not heard that Vena was transferring. Where is he headed? And you are correct, that does make UVA far less desirable. But if they want to have throws remain a part of their program they need to hire a coach now, still. As you mentioned, they need to recruit if its going to happen and that wont happen with no one in place.

Vena is now at Georgia.
Can someone explain this hire? He may be a very goodd coach but three sprint hurdle coaches on staff? I guess they must be going with only the sprints and hurddles.

There are 6 coaching positions. Its not uncommon for there to be 1 coach for all throws, 1 for all distance, 1 for all jumps, and 3 for sprints/hurdles/relays...several elite programs are set up that way

I was told (directly) by Fetzer that he had his hire for the throws. I'm not sure why there is nothing posted anywhere unless he is full of s***.
The posting of a hire on a schools site by sports info can lag for up to 4-6 weeks at many schools. Of course this doesn't happen for football or hoops, but not uncommon for CC/TF. Sometimes it is the result of the hiree having to work out a notice for previous employer.
Fetzer is full of s**t whether he has hired a throws coach already or not.
No release but here he is
What about the Cal State LA DII job that is open? I was told in an e-mail that they are currently reviewing applications. Looks like they have an assistant right now who coaches their distance runners. Where did Asher go?
new hires for ETSU, staff is full up now.
Clemson will fill their staff this weekend with the final hire. Coach Johnson has assembled quite a staff from what I hear.
I think they goin all sprints and jumps at CU.
Whole lot of egos in one office from what I hear. Can they make a reality show out of Clemson track? I'd watch for the drama that will ensue
Cincinnati job open at the end of this year.
Im not sure if there are going to be a lot of great candidates beating down the door for this job or not with the UC mens program being a non-scholarship program now. However, I do think Chris Wineberg and or Brandon Hon could do a nice job running the program if they chose to promote from within. I coached in the Big East for several years and was able to watch both young coaches work and I think they are both really solid. Im just uncertain what the level of interest will be in the position as its future may be a little bleak without scholarship money. I could be totally wrong about that point but just an observation.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
