Men's official results???
UW women were jumping up and down but Gtown wins it.
Miltenberg - congrats.
With the SEC being so screwed up in football this year, at least track and xc isn't the only sport where you can win the national title without winning the conference title.
Coogan's daughter has really been coming on. Wonder how she did.
Cory McGee (Florida) looking at the camera. Word to your mother.

Has Hasay EVER beat Reid? Seems like she always gets outkicked by her at the end.
Hasay was Indoor Meet top and Indoor season top runner. She beat Reid at 1500 and 3000 and started the DMR behind Reid, I think.
Team results
Georgetown 162
Washington 170
Villanova 181
Florida State 189
Oregon 281
Guess the girl's race needs to be lowered to a 4k for Hassay to win.
Team results
gtown 162
washington 170
nova 181
fsu 189
oregon 281
Congrats to Miltenberg and Byrne....each winning their first NCAA titles!
27 points separate 1st to 4th.
162 - Gtown
170 - Washington
181 - Villanova
FSU - 189
Oregon 281
8 points is closest margin of victory since 1998.
While there is a fine line between running like an idiot and running with your balls I agree with you. Realistically, Fernandez is the biggest disappointment. Sure, some other OSU guys could've run faster, but who knows. German was the only one in the field who could've challenged lawi. However, he hasn't run hard in xc since high school. Team running is good for a bunch of solid, similarly talented guys, but when someone has talented as German gets dragged into it, it ends up hurting the team. The 3:55 miler still can't race worth shit.
I hope he learns one day. It would be fun to see 1) German run fast 2) German race hard. (There can be a difference.)

It looks like Felnagle (spelling?)

Why do the women still run a 6k anyway? It's not like the female body can't withstand the strains of a longer race; they run women's 10ks in track all the time. Seems to me it's just sexist, and forces the race into much more of a sit-and-kick type deal.
I thought it was a lot more exciting than the men's race because of the reason Virgin doesn't like it. I'd rather see the middle distance runners in the races.

Not clear to me how all you folks seem to know exactly how capable GF is at this point. You all seem to know he could do amazing things (like challenge Lawi). How do you know this?
Sure he ran great in high school and did some good stuff his first year at OSU. But since then he has been mostly injured or iron deficient. Perhaps he has not continued to develop as many had hoped. Perhaps he is not in top shape. How is it that you folks know otherwise?
For those who cannot see the NCAA live feed...
Sheila Reid won the individual title by outkicking Jordan Hasay in the last 50 meters...it was a wild finish with a large pack vying for the title during the last 200 meters. Jordan Hasay was 0.6 back
The team title went to Georgetown, in a very close race:
1) Georgetown 162
2) Washington 170
3) Villanova 180
4) Florida State 189
5) Oregon 281

Yeah, because longer races never turn out to be sit-and-kick deals.
Where do we get results now? Word to your mother.

Why don't you ease off of the bizarrely personal condemnations here?
You just denigrated one of the top runners in the NCAA and you think I am making personal condemnations?
See my previous post about you growing up and realizing how ignorant you are.
I'd like to see the women's race moved up to 10k. Especially since they have 18 scholarships to spread around, they can afford to recruit 10k specialists instead of having the milers get all the focus. I don't think anyone believe anymore that XXs can't run as far as XYs. So why not give the female distance runners a venue instead of focusing on the middle distance stars? That would allow schools to build around a wider diversity of events, making the sport deeper and richer.
A 10k race or even an 8k race would be very boring. The women's field is not as deep as the men's and to have a good, fast race you need the 1500 types (and even a few 800 gals).
