No, Michael...You rule. You are rad.
Very smart move for him to get in this race and mix it up.
Hopefully he will stay over there for a while and train with some of the big guns as well.

only reason he even got an invite is because of Nike's influence. And be sure, he is not racing lagat or El G, he's racing those white chaps in the back.
At least he's faster than Kenyan teen sensation James Kwalia (3:38.8). Go Webb! This is what it is going to take to be one of the best Milers in the world: RACE THE BEST!
You obviously think that caucasion milers can't run with non-white milers. Coe, Ovett, Cram, Elliott, Scott, Spivey, and Ryun disprove your theory succinctly. Tinman
Tinman I respect your opinions and posts 99% of the time, however I recall a post where you felt Webb may have peaked in h.s. Im being an ass,but what white man did you think could compete with El G last year or this year ? I think thats what the previous poster was was touching on in his own negative way. Maybe Im the ass ,in a bad mood!

What black man could compete with El G the last couple of years ; )? Maybe Lagat, but he was popped for drugs and let off because of politics (the EPO test doesn't give false positives, go check the WADA site). No one of any color has been able to hang with him since '00 when Ngeny beat him. And then summarily dropped from the scene.

it's not that hard to get into such a race when you have the A standard.
the EPO test can give false positives. No one really knows what happened with Lagat, so don't pretend otherwise.

No it doesn't.
... but Lagat was caught with his pants down.
It is funny that someone would mention white guys, then black guys, and so on. You are all correct however. No one of any color has been able to keep up with Guerrouj the last couple of years, and very rarely overall for the last 8 years.
After the Home Depot meet, Webb should run about 3;32
or thereabouts.
I'd advise Alan to head over to Holland about NOW in
order to get rid of the jetlag.

3:35 isn't anywhere near world class anymore. Webb has so far to go it's just silly. Great run, but he's not competing with the best milers in the world. Sully has ran 3:31 I believe, and he barely stands a chance...

Seriously, unless you can jump right down to a world leading time you should just give up. Besides, he's like 21 and should have retired already.
well, hats off to the bald little fella. it's great to see him running so well again. would really like to see him run fast in europe. his confidence really has to be high right now. didn't krum dip just under 3.32 in '02?
that's one stout field- lagat, el g, koers, the two brits- perhaps webb can even improve further? is geb still attempting the wr?
The Home Depot race indicates that Webb is absolutely
ready to make a huge improvement at Hengelo.
Webb ran the last 800 meters of the race alone and the
conditions were windy.
I think that if he doesn't have any problem with the
jetlag, and the pacing and weather conditions are good,
he can go about 3;31-3;32.
