I'm so confused with the above arguments lol.

Here is a physiological fact folks: the less body fat you have in your face, the older you will look, period.
Given that africans and native americans in general tend to have prominent cheekbones, if you add the low body fat percentage to one who runs, they will look much older.
Error-ridden post. "Physiological fact" cannot equal "the older you will look, period". But, you are still loved.
Also, in what way does Cheserek look gaunt in the face? He doesn't.

Wrong, Shenendehowa in 2004 was the first team to average under 13:00min
Heard Cheserek is going up to RI this weekend to race at Goddard Invite. Anyone know what the distance will be?
CBA performance, while very good, not in same universe as their Holmdel performance of a week ago, even adjusting for fall of top guy--maybe the heat, maybe this team is relatively better at 5K than 2.5miles----maybe the proximity to Holmdel is a greater advantage than thought
A course record is a course record in cross country no matter who runs it, but just thinking ahead to track season, if Cheserek runs faster than any of the high school track records will they count as records since he is still a citizen of Kenya?
Or would they count, but require an asterisk or would they fully count or what?
an American HS record is an American HS record regardless of the country in which the runner comes from. I am certain that many of the Carribean runners who run for their high schools are citizens.
No....you are wrong. St. Joe's averaged 12:53 for their 5 guys on a significantly slower VCP 2mi course back in 1971.(some argue the revamped course is up to 15 seconds faster than the old sand and rock pit pre the mid 90s). They then went on to win the distance medley and the 2mi relay at Penn (The DMR in 10:06 in which Alex Trammel ran the still fastest 2:59 3/4 leg). That 71 team is left off the "Best of All Time" team list on which S. Eugene, Lompoc, and Hammond Indiana get all the ink. A glaring omission. That St. Joe's team was certainly in the top 5 all time if not the Top 3 of all time.
...I meant the 2.5mi course...of course.
Could we please gather all the people obsessed with this kid's "real" age in one thread, like we did with those Kip Litton wackjobs?
Not to be a hater, but isn't there a ton of construction going on at VCP? Do we know if it was the actual traditional HS course or a modified version of it? If it is a different version of the same course then the record shouldn't really count.
I last ran the 2.5 in 1973. We ran across the fields to the cow path and finished with a left at the bottom of the hill by the Parkway. What other set-ups have there been for the 2.5?
people can call it politically INCORRECT or RACIST but while this young man is an outstanding runner, and i'm sure an equally fine person , no one can say with complete certainty how old he truly is.

Thus unless you have a legitimate reason to believe he is older than he says he is you should shut up. Anyone could be lying about his age.

Again, they will not count as American records, period. He is NOT an American citizen. Is that so difficult to get through your thick skull? Cheserek should be applauded, I think, for being a good approximately 20 year old KENYAN runner. Since he is the only one in that category running against HIGH SCHOOL american boys, no older than on average 17 years, let's not get carried away by his performance. We are talking apples and oranges. End of story.
Close to 85 at racetime 2:20 PM. Altered course is same distance but a touch slower b/c you get to cowpath sooner. Much more congested once you get to cowpath. Not a problem for Eddie C or first few guys but once you get to about 20th on the path it is chaos. I imagine teams will be faster next year if the course goes back to the classic one. Footing has been good in years past but downhills this year were pretty old school due to hurricane and rain. Too bad the park could not have this done on anything resembling a normal timeframe.

Yes you can. Its on his birth certificate.

Bahahaha, 15 seconds faster? You're a joker, old man. Only deluded old men would spout this crap. You're kidding yourself if you think that Cheserek, and for that matter, 2009 Joe Rosa (12:03), aren't worlds better than Brad Hudson in 1983, when he ran a (still outstanding!) 12:15. But you'd claim that Cheserek is only a few seconds better than Hudson, and that Rosa is actually worse. Do you really think that a returning 8:42i guy (better than everyone ever except for the indoor and outdoor national record holders) is barely better than Brad Hudson was? Or that the only other HSer ever to break 15 at Holmdel, and who also ran 8:44 later that year, is inferior to Hudson?
Notably, Hudson, Cheserek, and Rosa were all juniors for their record runs at VCP. I do wish Rosa had been healthy as a senior. Then maybe a Kenyan import wouldn't have been the first under 12.
