This is how I see the race playing out. It goes out slow, around 5 min for the first mile. Then around 4k or 5k the Wisconsin pack makes a strong move, and they drop two of the Indiana guys over the next 2k. Race over. 5 Wisconsin guys in the top 10, Mead wins, and 3 Indiana guys also in the top 10.
That's not all that different from what happened last year. There is no incentive for Wisconsin to take it out fast.
I think that a couple of Wisconsin guys will have the green light to go with Mead when he tries to separate. I'm not saying they'll beat Mead, just that a couple will go, even if it's fairly early.
