Well he started and he won and he ran faster than anyone other than himself over the last 5 years.
I'm impressed.

He still won't be ready to win but I imagine will be looking for a reasonable performance.
You won't be listened to, but chet looks like the one to pay attention to.
'Remember, even if Kenenisa wins in Brussels in 26:35-26:40'
Don't know how someone is going not being able to finish a 27+ race to that sort of time in 2 weeks
-------------------
Got that wrong!
Still don't know how someone can improve that much in 2 wks. I've never seen that before
I stand corrected and you were right!
You need to be corrected.
This was a paced race from day one , not meant to be a top competition , people to run fast with a controlled paced effort. ( note number of pacers )
10,000's vary on purpose in Europe.

How is this correcting anybody? Is thinking not your forte?
You da man, chet! I had my doubts.
Wow, chet. Admittedly, I've argued with you heatedly in the past, but there's no denying you pretty much nailed it here. Bravo.
chet was right!
Jos Hermens.
No thinking required just suppling the facts.
Chet stated this not being the best field , but no reason why.
Race was meant to be a time trial of sorts , fast paced running.
Whats your excuse ?

Rec Runner x wrote:Wow I had to reread the article to make sure those words actually came out of his mouth. He could not handle the pace of a strategic 10k at worlds but seeks to run just some two weeks later one of the fastest times in history. I think its fair to go ahead a label KB a head case.
Bekele has the WR, the OR, the MR (your mom's record), and about any other record you can think of. To call him a headcase is insane. If anyone can bounce back quickly to top status, I believe he is the only man who could. I will never count him out. He had done the impossible before. This is a man who averaged what 13:13s back to back? He may not do it but I certainly won't ever put it past him.
Never lost faith that Bekele is a badass. 26:43. Nothing else needs to be said.

What kind of crap are you spewing?
You think that because a race is FAST it's not meant to be competitive? Please. It's the unpaced races that start off at a joke-pace and finish with a 51-53 second 400 that REALLY lack competitiveness.
In a fast race, all the pretenders who would otherwise be clogging up the lanes at the sprint-finish are crushed before they even have a chance to kick, and only the best have a chance to contend when the final 400 comes around
