Every year there seems to be a freshman sensation, at least on the girls side. Does anyone in California know if there is are any incoming freshman phenom's coming up this season?

Jill Hasay (Jordan's little sis)
Who's the first Sarah Baxter?
Sarah Baxter isn't done being Sarah Baxter yet but I'll give you Christine Bayliss multiple USATF youth champ. I'm not sure what high school she is attending.

And I thank God for that every day. I have heard of Mary Cain, however, since I believe she beat Aisling Cuffe in a couple 1500 races this past spring.
Allie Ostrander.
p.s., four of the five mega talented freshmen I've heard of reside in the Northwest. :)
Whoever was the AAU and/or USATF youth XC and/or 3k champ. Also, look at whatever NY 8th grader who ran varsity last year...those would be good places to start your search.
or times... PR's are usually a pretty good indication, since lots of kids don't compete in USATF or AAU.
(by the way, my earlier post was an exaggeration -- I know of four very talented freshmen in the northwest this year, but there are plenty of other great talents in other places as well)
Silva LeBlanc (CA) - 9:50.32 3k
Jordyn Coulter (CO) - 10:07.16 3k (already ran 18:38 at altitude on a pretty decent course)
Eliza Dekker (NC) - 10:07.99 3k (already ran 18:20 at McAlpine)
Marissa Sheva (PA) - 10:12.70 3k
Alexis Fuller (WA) - 10:12.96 3k
Christine Pagano (NJ) - 10:13.88 3k (won USATF Youth 3k, though none of these others were in attendance)
And beyond 3k track prs...
Allie Ostrander (AK) has run 17:14 for 3 miles and 17:53 for 5k already
Kenzie Weiler (MI) has run 18:05 for 5k already
Mimi Smith (IL) has run 17:50 for 3 miles already
and Danae Rivers (CT) ran 4:40 for 1500m as well.
clearly you also know nothing about xc outside of New York

FAYETTVILLE-MANLIUS!!!!!!!
There are girls faster than some of those mentioned. Like someone said not all kids race AAU or USATF. I know for sure there is an freshman girl in Illinois that is posting better times than those mentioned. There is another girl in Iowa that would give any of those girls an tough race.
Allie Ostrander from Alaska.
70lb blonde albino'ish girl.
Just a Freshman, good shot to win Footlocker.
BANK ON IT!!!

I hope Allie Ostrander goes to NXN-NW: Neale, Knight and Hardin will all be there (and very likely most, if not all, of the best in the Northwest). Then, she would have the option of either accepting a bid (if she gets it) to NXN, or trying to make FLN.
