i know it is not real cool...but is it alright to get blazed like once or twice a month? will it hurt by running that much? i need facts, not opinions.

I do not believe that it will hurt your running doing it a few times a month. People use various techniques to unwind themselves after hard days or even weeks of study, work, running, etc. Do not do it habitually and i do not believe you will have a problem.
best of luck

Stay off the angel dust son.
You're looking at doing some serious time. Time that will make you a man.
Not a man's man either, but a man in the sense you'll feel more like a bitch.
I prefer to run high....the senses are more acute....nice atmosphere to run makes a more condusive atomphere being high...as my friends and I say BBB......beer, boob and a bone...or bowl or bong or bat.....its word!!!!!!
It all depends on what level you are trying to reach in the sport and how you are USING the cannabis to make you faster in the long run. As funkadelic pointed out, you have the ability to tune into your senses and really be in the moment. This gives you the opportunity to really analyze your stride much more effectively and become aware of muscles you didn't realize you could consciously control. The trick is to then remember how to do that sober, because that is where true power lies.
Realize that pot will delay your recovery time and will reduce your O2 intake. Less solid sleep, disrupted recovery cycles and more. Can you deal with a reduction in potential? Are you training for the 4th o July 5k or the Olympics? Yes, pot is an illegal substance (IOC and IAAF)as is EPO and steroids if you are Meb, Dan or Abdi (or aspire to be). Give it up while you try to be great. You can always get back to MJ when you are parking cars for a living in Fayettville. Why not do it now?
Sounds like one of the commercials you here on the radio. Thanks for barfing that out CoachX. Of course what CoachX says about the physical aspects is true, it's the association with minimum wage jobs that is off the mark. Many of the most intelligent people in the world partake. Also, it should be of note that THC, or marinol, is used often for people who have severe problems with conscious control of their muscular system. I've found that though I'm not one who could be medically classified as having muscular control problems the substance has still greatly helped with my strides efficiency, BUT, and it's a major but, while you are smoking and within a short term period thereafter your body is not physiologically as efficient as it could be, not even close. Eat the stuff, don't smoke it, it's much less harmful.
Actually I've found out that I have much more solid sleep when I've smoked or otherwise taken in THC in the time shortly before bed. I sleep for quite a while, as opposed to going to sleep drunk where I don't sleep well at all. Just individual experience...
When I partake I go all gay and hump legs etc. Next morning I'm straight as a fiddle. You do the math.
It depends what distance you will be running. You can smoke all you want as long as you are running 800m/1500m you should be fine.
Geeze man if your that worried about it dont.
I didnt even drink my freashman year, but kinda let lose my sophmore year(college), and one point i was lighting up about four times a week, and running like shit. Not because i couldnt mind you just because i didnt give a damn. This is my Junior year i still smoke every now and then and drink somtimes, but i have much better focus, and i am running Huge P.R.s my theroy is whatever you do on saturday night be ready to get up and run long and hard on sunday morning.
and actually ive found its much easier to do this after a long night of smokeing , than i long night of drinking
take it for what its worth
I say it is ok if you are a triple jumper.

Just wanted to be more specific that by "short term period thereafter" having smoked regularly I mean in the space of about a year or less.
few times a month? thats just long enough for it to never fully leave your system but if youre not worried about drug tests, whatever's whatever. from a former 7 year daily smoker, I personally regret my usage in regards to athleticism, education and personal life impairment. Everyone has to find out for themselves what they want in/out of life. Physically, the consequences for such infrequent smoking will only be felt 24 hours after...so, if you can spare a day to rehydrate and reoptimize nutrients, go for it. Anyone, ala CoachX, trying to lay the National Ad Council Anti-drug crap on you are full of it, there is nothing universal about experience:consequences.
"I have no right to admonish anyone for their drug intake"-Nick Cave
Wouldn't that make him a HIGH jumper
-(sorry)
Do you people REALLY think it's ok to be tokin'?
It's bad for you, leads to other things for many pot smokers, and keeps your edge away.
Quit it now.
Is this written from personal experience?
Let me guess.......... and you are? the moral police.

everyone has to fall on their face or fly on their own...crap like "its bad for you, leads to other things for many pot smokers" totally unfounded on conclusive non-biased research doesnt do any good at all.
you IP back searched, three cheers. Alpharetta has crap running, just work out here; one good place was the greenway till they paved it. Atlanta has plenty of spots.
In some states, I think you have to be nuts to even try it. I, for one, would not want to face the Alabama criminal justice system over a lousy joint - not a moral statement - just an exceedingly practical one.
