I just can't seem to shed that second, is there anything I can do differently in training to get there? I think I'm aerobiclaly capaable, but I have too many bananas to eat chicken

Never under estimate the power if the banana. You are likely in an enormous banana deficit.

In all seriousness, it's probably just a mental block in your head or something; you'll probably duck under 16 this season. Running 16:0x three times suggests you could go a few seconds faster.
