I don't think the LunarRacer is minimalist. It is just light weight. I believe the heel/toe drop of the Free 3 is much less than the LunarRacer in addition to the funky slotted sole.
According to runningwarehouse.com, I am not correct and the heel/toe drop of the LunarRacer is actually less than the Free.
I absolutely love the Puma faas 300 I chose the 300s so I could get a shoe that would still be a little bit heavy but love the low heel to toe drop and low to ground sole. Excellent flexibility also. Have about 500 miles on mine and still going
Has anyone tried the Merrell Pace Glove? What are your thoughts about them?
Minimalist shoes are not meant to be everyday trainers. They're meant to be tools to help strengthen the lower body in the long run.
You hear all the praises about them, but none of the horror stories from being used improperly. They are NOT a replacement shoe.
I have 3 in my collection, but I also have 10 regular shoes in there. When I'm healthy I jog in them no more than once or twice a week and drop the mileage.
My favorite would be the Hatorri though.
the last three years...Adadis adizero Mana
but My all time favorite is the Asics Light weight trainer from 2001 to 2004.....then they destroy a good design which will probably happen to the Mana also!
Disagree. Any lightweight shoe with a thin and flexible sole probably could be called minimalist. They're totally suitable to be everyday trainers if you ease into them over time. I do 140mpw in the Nike streak xc 2, which is minimalist by most definitions. But I've been running in flats exclusively for a few years.
