lollllll. I mean, who could have ever foreseen anything going wrong with booking strangers to stay in your home?

I like one the comments below:
* Rent out your place to friends through Airbnb
* Claim $50k in losses
* Repeat
its crap, gave me bogus info twice already. done with it.
At some point, the Olympic dream seems empty to some people and some people realize the sacrifice is just not worth it. And sometimes running becomes a bad addiction and you need to break it off cold turkey and invest your mind and time in other things to keep your sanity.
Airbnb was mentioned on Conan O'Brien tonight. They are renting out their studio as a joke. Get it while it's hot!
Illegal. City codes forbid it due to safety concerns.

Cool, you're just a little ball of fun, aren't you?
Airbnb is blowing up:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/05/02/BUFT1OBNO0.DTL
"Airbnb will announce Wednesday it signed a 10-year, 170,000-square-foot lease at 888 Brannan St., a nearly fivefold expansion over the Potrero Hill space it moved into just last year."
So what's the verdict, did he strike rich or not? I say no. Based on his LinkedIn profile and lack of publicity it appears he didn't participate in the pot of gold. He was not an original founder, and probably was given an insignificant amount of equity over time. I supposed he's done well salary-wise. Wonder if there are any regrets.
It's funny to look back at these posts, considering AirBnb is now valued at somewhere around $30 BILLION.
Won't forget him talking with a fake accent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPFvhn0tu0M
A) He's lived in London for years now... although it's not appealing, it's more a product of environment than fake.
B) Ive heard from a reliable source that his net worth is in the $20+million range after the IPO.
Funny to think back about Lukezic. He did get in early with AirBnB, but he never held a particularly big title once the train got rolling. Regardless, he still could have (and should have) decent shares from starting in 2009. I guess he could be at $20M net worth, but I would guess more like $8-10M. A comfortable tech wonk... And... just got a chuckle at this one:

Give me a f*cking break. Nobody would pay a billion dollars for that shitty company.
Obligatory lol bump
These posts have aged like a fine load of turd.
1. what the heck are you guys talkin' 'bout how he made out in the IPO? The IPO has not happened yet, and now may not happen in 2019 at all.
2. what happened to Chris' good looks? He had chiseled good looks when a runner, that interview shows him to be puffy, with very greasy, acne-ridden skin. Chris, keep running at least a few times a week just to keep your skin clear.
3. how did he get such an early-stage tech job in the first place (apart from the clever comic book resume)?
I mean, how does one go from being a pro runner, to becoming the 5th employee of a tech firm? How was he even aware of this company? What were his qualifications--he had no work experience apart from "runner", correct?
Executive summary: congrats Chris on business success, but please don't neglect your physical health.
I have never used airbnb
I used this company for a night's lodging with a so-called "superhost." Like a bad college frat renting out in the summer, cold and kind of sleazy looking with no information about how to get there. I hope that communities start cracking down on this company.

Do you see him on the list of founders?

Anybody else notice that as you go down that list, they just seem to get uglier?
