So wait shes going to be doing both the Columbus thing and still be at USATF? how will that work? The board that she is leading now is having a lot of difficulties and now shes adding another job. that doesnt seem to be a good idea for anyone. ugh.

Being on the Board of Directors is not a paid position (though you get all of your travel and expenses paid for) and it's not a full-time job.
To all of those wondering why USATF HQ is in Indy, I think Indy offered tax perks and such to several NGBs to get them to move to Indy. It's cheap rent for the office and a low cost of living for the staff.
WIth most business now being conducted online, there's no reason to relocate the office and staff to expensive places like LA or New York. Most of the people conducting business on behalf of USATF don't live in Indy anyway, it doesn't matter that much where the national office is.
None of the Indy LDR and HP staff would survive the move to Los Angeles. A completely new staff headed by an accomplished/experienced Hollywood Sports Television Executive as CEO is needed to launch a USATF media property.
Oprah relocated to Los Angeles given it is the most visible city in the world. Los Angeles is the media, enterainment, pro sports, college sports, Track and Field, recording, motion picture, television, pornography, style, trends, art, and culture capitol of the world. Thousands of video, multi-media, film, 3D, animation, and audio post-production facilities and studios dot the entire Southern California landscape up to one hundred and fifty miles away.
it doesn't matter that much where the national office is.
The average post-collegiate career is only 1-3 years. That's all elites have to get airfare and weekend hotel perks and make some money as elite. While on the circuit elites stay with teammates in hostels on weekdays. Please stop risking elite career earnings potential with half-assed USATF promotions, public relations, and press relations. Treat elites like pro athletes. Elites want to be on prime time broadcast network TV like you see in Europe and Asia. If L.A. is what it takes so do it then damn it. Why else does every media venture have major production in Hollywood. Telemundo and Univision, the window to a billion Hispanic TV viewers (in the US, Carribean, Central, and South America) made the move to L.A. OWN made the move. Don't elites athletes deserve some love ????????????????????????
