Because everyone is the same.
Try out your options. Look into the Saucony Kinvara line, New Balance MT10, etc.
How long have you run in low-drop shoes?
Another option is using cross country flats and just replacing them more often since you can get them for 30 to 60 bucks. They usually have a solid rubber outsole which last longer than the blown rubber used in some trainers and road flats.
i agree with u.
The whole point of the shoe is that it should feel intuitive to run efficiently in it. What generates that feel will be different for everyone. Some people like a shoe that is very low to the ground but soft. Others prefer a midweight shoe that is firm and responsive. Whatever makes efficient running feel natural.
Do you have any favorite racing flats, that can be used for everyday training?
Have you tried the Branca Sandals at runbranca.com? Seriously they are good. It's worth a shot for $30.
Depends on how much minimalism you're talking about. Your options could include NB Minimus (Trail preferably), Kinvara, or flats. Im currently switching between the original adizero mana pair, hattoris, and nike xc streak 2 and my favorite is the xc streak. 3mm differential and durable, even though it may not look like it. I have easily 500+ miles on it and it looks like it could still put more...way more. It just shows usual signs of wear on the bottom but it basically looks like new. I just ordered my 2nd pair off running warehouse for 48 including tax. Honestly, it's all about feel so try on different models!
I agree with Jose. Nike Zoom Streak XC. Great shoe for minimalist runners. I do have a narrow foot though and I am not sure if they would work for runners with normal to wide feet. Give them a shot though, the new Zoom Streak XC 3 is great.
