They have a number of stores in the dc area and have a mostly knowledgeable staff, including some Olympians and trials runners. Try Burke or Reston first as I think they're the closest to you.
VA Runner is closer to you. There is a store in Woodbridge and the Clifton/Centreville area.

Honestly though, DC has way too many running stores.
I second the Pacers call. And I second the call that there are way too many running stores in the DC area. Pacers has the best staff, the best events, and the best locations. Their Arlington and alexandria locations are unbeatable.
If you want to go to the store that copies everything that Pacers does then go to Potomac river running. At least they are copying the best in the area.
The website copy was funny. Pacers has a great website and prr practically copied it to a T!
Also, Everyone in the area knows that the owner of Pacers is buddies with the hosts of the #1 morning radio show in the area, the Sports Junkies. He is on the show a lot and runs with the hosts. Well, the owner of prr started sending shoes to the hosts of the afternoon sports show to try to get in with them. Funny shift and pretty pathetic... Needless to say it didn't work.
