No one noticed Mulder's 1:44.7? Walked down Greer like it was nothing.
Berry is not just incredibly talented, but extremely consistent.
Wheating is coming off a calf tweak, so didn't push it.

I don't know who you are, but I doubt it. It was the most effortless I have ever seen anyone. It looked like he was running badwater. Don't get me wrong, I know it was slow and he should look comfortable, but I thought he was running 8min miles. Just an opinion from someone who was there.

According to the splits announced over the PA, his second lap was a 64-65 and it didn't look like his third was much faster. Hell, I can look like I'm jogging at that pace.
He ran sub 4 at Penn last year doing the same thing. My teammates and I thought he was gong to split a 4:20. His ease was eerie.
Mulder, who is a pro, did run a wicked leg sitting behind Greer who ran from the lead, but Greer ran 1:46.3. How did that compare to Andrews' and Loxsom's legs at Penn Relays?
Andrews/Loxsom were both 1:46-low.

Andrews ran 1:46.0, Loxom ran 1:46.70.
So Greer is nicely sandwiched right in between the two.
Mulder is a pro, but I dont think we watched the same race...I just watched it and he was pretty far behind, not sitting on him at all.
A guy runs a sub 1:45 split and all the nitwits on this board want to discuss is a crapass mile leg.
Par for the course.
Did Cas get the stick ahead of Robby? It didn't seem like 0.7 difference at the finish but maybe I'm mistaken on that. With all the talent in the 800 right now I think the final will be a kicker's race, with the nod going to Andrews or Samoei. For sure some 1:47 guy(s) won't make the final.Interestingly, right now Greer is 23rd on the POP list with only a 1:48.87 and Andrews is 48th w/1:49.59!

It's weird to me that there was a pacer on the first two laps. What the?! Why ever would that be necessary?

Yes, I agree; use the snotput guy.
The pacesetter carried a stick but had no teammates so I think it was an attempt to make believe they had 3 teams on the line. As mentioned above 2 team races are not counted for official results.
Sprint races can go with one runner as long as three got to the startline and 2 FS'ed out.
Someone who actually follows the rule changes might know more about matchrace rules or updates to them.
Manzano would've demolished Wheating and Acosta!

A crapass mile leg runs a nitwit and all the runs on this board want to discuss is a sub 45 split.
After watching that anchor does anyone seriously doubt a healthy A. Wheating is going to soon shatter the AR in the mile and 1500..and likely 800 to boot? Johnny Gray, it was great for all those years.:) Alan Webb-its been great for these few years, but its unfortunately only a matter of time, place and good health and fitness with Mr. Wheating.
i'd say 1500 and mile are def records he'll break in the next 2-3 yrs. that 800 i don't he'll get due to lack of speed. at best i can see wheating running 46.5 in the 400 and 46.0 on a relays split. so yeah wheating will prolly end his career with a 1:43.0 800 pb but i doubt he gets in the 1:42 range.
I think his only shot at breaking 1:43 would have to be around the time he's breaking the AR in the mile or 15 and then peaks with 400m type sessions and gets in a diamond league type meet with rudisha or kaki or both in the race.
I think it likely that Wheating will indeed break the records for the mile/1500, but not based on anything we saw at the Twilight. Our future expectations are all based on what we saw last year. The 1600 legs turned in by Wheating (and AJ) were dismal.
A year ago Wheating was fresh off being beaten by a freshman indoors and doing nothing special to make us think the summer of 2010 was going to be anything big (AJ too)
Wheating ran like shit, get off his nuts. 4:04 is nothing to say anything about. The only thing to be said about wheating running 4:04 is that he's out of shape, and needs to keep training.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
