symmonds about 2:50, centro about a second back
mike berry (UO) split 44.6 to take slight lead on eaton
tyler mulder (OTC) sub 1:45 800 split to take slight lead on greer who went out too hard
not sure what wheating split but it looked like he was literally jogging, i think he came thru 1200 in 3:06, acosta made a move late but it was over
OTC- 9:26
UO- 9:28
i got wheating in about 4:04-05. looked like he was toying with acosta
The world best is 9:15, with the opening splits OTC had they could have had that witha about a 3:53 for the anchor.

The highlight of the race was definitely Mike Berry throwing down a ridiculous 400 on Ashton Eaton. The freshman is definitely unafraid.

agreed. great 400 leg
Eaton also ran a 13.53 110h; pretty good for a Deca guy, and the conditions were not great. If he keeps taking those throws further out, he may hit 9000.

Wow, Centro is fit. He looked a lot better than Symmonds imo. Nickky fought like a mother that last 50 to not let a college kiddo beat him.

No joke about Wheating, like you said, he looked like he was jogging. Yeah I know he should look comfortable running 4:04, but this was unreal. He was walking. No big kick, just a bit of turnover the last 100.
Centro is going to be ridiculously tough to beat in the 1500 come NCAA's.
Still can't get over Wheating's jog, you had to be there to really understand just how ridiculous it looked.

first 400 was in about 58 and he gapped acosta. after that he pretty much just cruised and picked it up the last 100m just to keep comfortably ahead.
he's slower then German Fernandez now? what is going on with our runners?

Acosta looked incredibly relaxed, too. Especially during his 65-second first lap.
The last leg was kind of boring just because both of them looked so relaxed. Acosta really should have made more of an effort to go after him. I mean it's not like they were there for a freakin time trial.

13.52 with a .9 wind, but he also went 13.54 last year into a 1.4 wind. But yes he's coming along very nicely this year.
Exibition races like this are stupid, say they did run an sub 9:15.63 it could not be radified. At the least put two sham teams in make it an official race. I'm sure the rosters of both clubs are deep enough to find 4 more guys to run a second team, hell use the polevaulter and the snotput guy if you have to.

According to the splits announced over the PA, his second lap was a 64-65 and it didn't look like his third was much faster. Hell, I can look like I'm jogging at that pace.
