I am a 21 year old male, and have been focused on building my aerobic base and running road races over the past 2 years. I am beginning to work out on the track for the first time, and I am curious about what type of footwear to work out in on the track/grass.
I ran a 17:40 5k, 3:03:57 for the marathon and 37:47 for the 10 k and I really want to drop my times at shorter distances to see if I can maybe run a bit in college. I have never done speed work before but am now beginning to work out with the Snails Pace Running Club (coached by the Orange Coast College Track coach).
What type of shoes would yall recommend? Spikes? Milers? I run in adizero manas or Asics Speedstars on the road and am putting in 75 mile weeks building towards 80-82.
Do I warm up in my trainers on the road and switch to spikes? do I just run in trainers on the track?
Any advice appreciated
