I am a post-collegiate runner but i am looking to get into college coaching. I wanted to know what should i do to get on with a college team.
should i e-mail all the head distance coaches at these D1 college? They say its more about who you know instead of what you know but i don't want to get in that way. I want a college to give me a chance to prove i am competent to coach runners and be successful.
I have usatf level I and ustfccca coaching certifications ( i know these dont help much ) so would this possible show them that i am serious about coaching.
I ran in D1 and i want to coach D1. i feel like if i start in naia or d3 that i'll by type cased and an naia or d3 (not saying thats a bad thing just not what i want to do). i know beggers can't be choosers but if i want something bad enough shouldn't i strive for it.
Any D1 head XC or track coaches that come on here that could possibly steer me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it. thanks
